Binaural
unreal... opens with Kidsmoke and some douche 30 seconds in yells for Radio King.. that set the tone of the night.. really dont feel like describing the bantar between Jeff and the rude hick great show.. tons of talking.. continued the band game from last night in memphis.. the fans basically picked the setlist.. ill let someone else write out the setlist no way i can remember the order with all of the interruptions but Jeff really had a good time and said the Ryman show last St. Patty's day was probably his favorite/best show ever.. "all downhill since" talked a little about the new album coming out May 15th and that the band will be back in nashville this year funny moment was when Glenn came back out with Jeff.. they played a few and finally Jeff thanked him etc... being his last night on the tour.. proceeds to play Im the Man Who Loves You while facing him and the mic turned.. hopefully someone grabbed this on video
deadman
thanks for the info. This banter shit is crazy...sounds like its getting as bad as it was with Ryan Adams. Let the dude play his music.

chasejay
the tweedy banter wasn't really that entertaining to me. too much dealing with the request making asshole and not enough playing or funny banter. i came up with something of a setlist. i didn't get one song. spiders (kidsmoke)radio kingi didn't know this one (lyric : "be patient with me)one by onebob dylan's beardiattbyhjesus, etc.shot in the armruling classeltshe's a jar(was i) in your dreams e: theologianssky blue sky e2: heavy metal drummergun it was pretty good i was just hoping for more music. he also revealed that the new album will be called "Sky Blue Sky" and will be released on 15 May. Bradrock
i cant believe the gall of that dumb hick...seriously, why would you yell a song request in the middle of a song? infuriating. aside from that, the set was awesome. elt and she's a jar were very pleasant surprises

deadman
these setlist look really short. I hope by B'ham he is warmed up and tired of the games. JT has some of the best Banter I have ever heard but if its cutting the setlist short then I'm not sure its worth it. It's his show though so he can do whatever he wants. froggie
so Gun was basically jeff & glenn?. that's a first. thought it might have been tweedy alone, literally unplugged proves that the whole band can play it as an encore soon

SarahC
i must admit, i am a little sad to see the set list is so short.
welch79
way too much audience, not enough music. don't get me wrong: i enjoyed the show when jeff was playing, but there were times that i wanted to leave because of how everybody was behaving. i hope he strikes a balance by knoxville. darkstar
An amazing show..... There was a lot of banter and audience noise...the guy yelling for Radio King was certainly a frigging idiot. All in all though I thought the crowd was fairly respectful....yeah don't yell your requests during a song, and the "whoo hoos" do get old but I would say the crowd was 98% enthralled and respectful and 2% were acting like asses. Give Glenn some love...he played a really interesting set before Jeff came on. I really liked it, but it seemed like a lot of people were like ok enough of the drums. Anyways I'm sure there will be the usual complaints about the audience, etc, etc but as far as I'm concerned I just drown that out. Your always gonna have beered up chowderheads doing that. That guy last night is probably going on and on to his friends about "hey man I was jiving with Tweedy last night". Sad to get your claim to fame by acting like a douche. That guy should have gone to the Red Hot Chili Peppers show that was going down at the Gaylord Center last night, he would have fit right in with that crowd. That being said any of you who are going to see Jeff at upcoming shows are in for a treat, if he plays half as well as he did here last night you will all have a great time. whiskeylittle
jeff opened w/ kidsmoke and i thought "oh hell yeah." then the asshole from the balcony, unfortunately, set the tone for the night and there was WAY WAY WAY too much crowd noise. one guy actually asked, "hey jeff? will you call my sister?" ?!? i drove three hours for this show, and there was a time when i wanted to actually leave ("hey jeff? what kind of harmonica do you play?" "jeff? will you sing happy birthday to my son?"). when he was singing, it was awesome. laminated cat was my favorite. i really don't understand why people want to yell from the crowd--but i say we start thumping them on the back of the head. i hope the guy from the balcony never sleeps again. SarahC
very harsh reactions to balcony guy... some people just don't have manners. now i wasn't at the show, but still...
patnewtp4
I was sitting right in front of the guy in the balcony. We told him to tone it down. Eventually the cops escorted him out. Great show otherwise.

Great show otherwise. Nice to know he finally got taken out. I was starting to wonder why the people around him weren't kicking his ass, especially after Jeff's funeral comment. Great show overall, but the audience bantering was getting out of hand.
sleepymonkey
Get over it people.Look, theres the typical audience banter that goes down at Tweedy shows and then theres the bullshit that happened last night in Nashville. It was way out of control. I felt embarrassed when the turd in the second row asked Jeff if he would call his sister and talk to her. What the fuck? And having him sing Happy Birthday to your son. How bout you and your son go outside and shoot yourselves? And the poop thing? That got way out of hand. "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band" HaHa!And if I had been sitting anywhere near that fuckstick in the balcony he would have gotten a water bottle upside the back of his head after the third time he yelled at Jeff. What an idiot. You mean he wasn't there with anyone that told him to shut the fuck up?Good show though.
Doctor B
I thought it was a great show. Firstime seeing Jeff solo. For those who were there, which song did Jeff say he would never sing again since he sang it at his mother's funeral? I could not here the original request. Thanks. Highlights: Kidsmoke, Sky Blue Sky, Gun There is such a fine line between good audience interaction as part of the show and banter that interferes with it. Jeff kind of reinforces it, by actually giving him the attention that he is wanting and then even playing his song! I wonder what would have happened if he had just ignored him.
