solace
2-3 years ago they were playing art galleries. this has got to rank as one of the biggest jumps in popularity(in the music world)i've witnessed a few bigger ones i saw the Killers (didn't go for them) open for Stellastarr* at the 7th Street Entry (capacity of like 225-250, and it wasn't even sold out), in April 2004, a year later they were playing smaller arenas, and the summer after that they were playing at Live 8 also, Arcade Fire opened for U2 for 3 shows in 2005 as well
Ludwig Von Drake
Now I have to decide how much I like the Arcade Fire, to see them in either Chicago, New York, or perhaps Canada. Why no Cleveland? They'd easily fill the Beachland Ballroom and they'd have every person from the north, south, east and west coming here to see them there.
solace
I'm pretty much about to cry over the lack of a Vancouver date.hold tight
aricandover
i've witnessed a few bigger ones yeah, me too. unfortunately, I saw Hookastank open for Dave Navarro, at a $5 show. a few months later they were playing huge venues.

holweger
Although i'm pretty disappointed there isn't a minneapolis date listed, this might work out for me. My buddy Chris & I have been trying to plan a trip to visit another friend in San Diego, and we were thinking maybe late April or so. And it just so happens the show in SD on April 26th is Chris' birthday.
solace
nice! that will be a HOT ticket to get (it'll sell out in 10-15 minutes, maybe less), as it's the smallest venue of any on the regular US tour by almost half.
blindgonzo
You know, I'm really hoping they do a cross Canada tour, you know, cause this is where they're from and all....
solace
^^ probably will later this year. although, to be accurate, 3 of the members are from the US originally, and 1 still lives there
aricandover
are tickets going onsale via Ticketmaster or another site?

farva
2-3 years ago they were playing art galleries. this has got to rank as one of the biggest jumps in popularity(in the music world) They went from the Empty Bottle here in Chicago (tiny) to a HUUUUUGE show at Lollapalooza in 2005, followed by a show at Riviera later that fall (which holds around 2300). The Chicago Theatre tops out around 3500 so it's a logical progression from the Riviera, but three nights makes it a large jump. Since it's really the only midwestern show (except for maybe Toronto) and it's a weekend, it seems about right. At least they had the good sense not to play the Aragon. Elixir Sue
Ohh, they're playing at the Chicago Theater, not the Auditorium. Is the Chicago Theater bigger or smaller?
renton
Ohh, they're playing at the Chicago Theater, not the Auditorium. Is the Chicago Theater bigger or smaller? Chicago Theater is smaller and far superior in my opinion.
solace
Ohh, they're playing at the Chicago Theater, not the Auditorium. Is the Chicago Theater bigger or smaller?yeah, it was initially at the Aud, which imo 3 was a bit much (Wilco's only done that once right?) it's smaller by about 500 i think

bobbob1313
The Atlanta show is still on! Sweet. And the National are pretty good, I've listened to Boxer some in the past few days. This should be well worth the 12 hour drive each way...
Dreamin'
oh Judy... Thanks for bumping this, Kyle. For some reason, I foolishly decided not to buy AF tix when they went on sale last weekend. Then I saw this thread and came to my senses. Fortunately, the venue is GA!
