jdmel
He also writes a lot of liner notes for cd re-issues. Wilco has been in a feature story in RS - at least once. I can't recall the date - I think I have the issue.the jist of that story is jeff tweedys out of rehab... i feel like if they wrote a story they would completely misrepresent the band... No - the one I am thinking of is from the Being There or Summerteeth era. I like his ones for "Metal Machine Music" and "March 16-20 1992." He also did the notes in all the Byrds re-masters. turtlegirl37
Who knows, they might be. They are considered to be a Gay Band by this website Love God's Way That site is freakin hilarious. Reminds me of my mom's "Backwards Masking Unmasked" videos that she used to make me watch. Funny, I still love rock n roll...and despite the warnings, I'm not gay, drug-addicted, or suicidal. caliber66
It's a parody site. The guy who runs it is a gay performer.
jff
The research has been done and the verdict is in: Putting Wilco on the cover will not attract advertisers, therefore they will not be on the cover. This is exactly the same reason they don't get played on commercial radio stations.
rwrkb
but they could all be in wizard of oz costumes.... oh wait...
beadsman
wilco on the cover of rolling stone and playing snl would have been cool...in 1978.now?...not so much. wilco on the cover of Creem and playing snl would have been cool in 1978.
jakobnicholas
I think it was Spin magazine that had a photo of the band (Tweedy, Coomer, Stirrat for sure...mabye Bennett, can't remember)....and they were in their pajamas, like having a sleepover slumber party. Anyone remember that? I DO think Tweedy/Wilco will be on the cover some day. And I think it'd be very cool.

They should have put Wilco on the cover after either YHF or AGIB with the words "America'sBest Rock n' Roll Band" on it, similar to what they did with REM around the time of Document. I supposesince it took them so long to do it for REM they probably will do it now with SBS.
joshsirjoshules
Well, it seems possible that they will do SNL because SNL has some indie cred with bands like The Shins and Beck playing. But Rolling Stone is a long shot. True, they are Fricke's favorite, but they have a magazine to sell and Wilco doesn't have a lot of mainstream appeal. But who knows? Sky Blue Sky could be their long-awaited mainstream breakthrough which would be cool, yet strange since I thought it was a bit weaker than past material.
Bhickman
I can see it happening, but have no idea when it will.
