Big fan, first time caller..etc.

Here it goes -- three years ago Wilco was playying at the Fox the night my first daughter was born and then two years ago I missed the J. Tweedy show on the night my second daughter was born ----- This year though there are no kids coming and I am so there --- SKY Blue Sky and I will be shaking it off -- I saw Son Volt last weekend, some blue grass this coming weekend, and will be ready come June!

Anyone else going to be at the Atlanta show? --- I am on row A moving and walken -- moving and walken

I'll be there. I find it interesting that the concert has been promoted so poorly.

I have not received my tickets yet. Have any of you received yours?

Might be apples and oranges but I received my Merriweather (MD) tickets (June 21) more than a week ago.

I am there :dancing

I agree the show is being promoted very very badly and they really need to promote the hell out of it or it is gonna be a bit empty. I went on ticketmaster and if i wanted it was able to get 9 seats in a row on row M in the orchestra. There are a lot of seats availble and i still think it is not even up on the Chastain website.

I was at the fox show and i know that did not sell out til the day of the show. I thin the fox holds about 4500. Chastain holds 6700.....

anyway i'm not too worried i'm gonna be there, wilco is gonna be there, and i don't care about much else

I am really looking forward to this show.

Oh for the record i have not received my tickets yet either

I am under the impression that Chastain is ditching the "picnic" style setup for Wilco - if the tickets aren't selling, wouldn't it have made more sense to keep the picnic style to take up more room and allow me to bring my damn bottle of wine?! (a friend said the "picnic" style might offend Tweedy's rock persona if everyone is relaxin' too much - yet we HAVE to sit at the solo shows!!)

Well, I can't complain that much - I'm going to bonnaroo the weekend before to see them :)

That's true, thank god. The table shows at Chastain bring out the season pass holders who are FAR more interested in chatting with their pals and business clients than listening to music.

I just checked Ticketmaster and found seats in the 15th row. (Orchestra Row O) That's not good.

I looked through the Creative Loafing (Atlanta's free weekly magazine) today. There were at least 3 chastain ads. None of them mentioned the Wilco show. I didn't see any ads for the new Wilco album either, which is kind of odd since it came out this week.

Row O of the Orchestra is not the fifteenth row. There are twenty some-odd rows in the pit (I'm in the 8th one), then five or six rows in the boxes, then the Orchestra starts.

Right you are. Thanks for the correction. Those are still very good seats considering tickets went on sale weeks ago. They need to start promoting this show or else it's going to be a financial disaster for the band and venue.

  • 4 weeks later...

i am embarrassed to admit that i'd actually prefer the live nation set up, since it appears (from the not so detailed seating chart) that i'd be considerably closer (row M, seats 10-13, orchestra) if it was picnic style and not rock style.

i just want to see something is all. but i'll live.

SO EXCITED!!

I just checked the seating charts. It's a little misleading. The seats in the "Orchestra" and "Table/Orchestra" sections are benches that are bolted to the ground and there is a LOT of room between the rows. When they have a table setup, they just place tables between the rows in the "Table/Orchestra" section. I don't think your seats would be any closer, you'd just have a table in front of you instead of empty space.

I hope that helps.

yeah. i called chastain yesterday to see where my seats were and he was like "what's on the ticket?" and i told him and the guy was like "well, that means there are 5 other rows in front of you on the main floor"... it was a really funny converstation, and i wish i weren't so ocd about the whole thing....

that is misleading. i look a whole inch closer (which equates to what i figure is a lot of rows) on the 2X4 size seating chart with "live nation" set up. (what does "live nation" mean anyway?)

well, that's good to know. thanks for the info.

would it also be true that i'll be right in the middle section since my seats are subsequent?

Not sure, It depends on whether you're in Orchestra Right, Orchestra Left or Orchestra Center. Doe it say on the ticket?

Here's the seating chart:

Here's some info about Live Nation:

it doesn't say. i figure i'm stuck in the middle (with you). i'm just M 10-13 is all it indicates in the orchestra.
