bobbob1313
Yes, but I think you are missing the amazing expression on Miguel Cabrera's face. He looks like he's gonna bitchslap the foul ball away.
parisisstale
The crazy thing is your pitching hasn't been as bad as it will be in the near future. John Maine, Oliver Perez, El Duque and Jorge Sosa are all severely outperforming their own abilities, and when they come crashing down, it's going to be ugly. I'll give you Maine, Sosa, and maybe El Duque (only cuz I doubt he'll stay healthy for long), but I think Oliver's the real deal. He's always had great stuff, just lacked the command. Peterson has really helped with the latter. I'd be worried about Glavine, too, but I hate the Mets. They do still have Pedro on the horizon.
cryptique
So, if Eckstein is "scrappy" rather than "gritty," what was Lenny Dykstra?
tongue-tied lightning
Lenny was scapitty Reds looking better, only 8.5 Mets will rebound, injuties, and a minor slump is all.

Leo
I'm a tiger season ticket holder. Yeah, I'm a Tiger season ticket holder who, because of a weekly commitment, sold all his Tuesday night games. AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! Miller, Verlander and Bonderman for the next 4-6 years. As George Kell would say, "look OUT!"

Lammycat
I was at a game in San Diego in 2001 when Schilling (w/ Arizona) was 4 or 5 outs from completing a perfect game and a Padre (I think it was catcher Ben Davis) bunted a little squibbler to get on base. There were some people (besides the Diamondbacks) a little miffed by that.
bobbob1313
Yeah, I think that was Davis. I don't like it, but if it was a close game I could understand.

I don't care if it was 1-0 or 10-0 -- if you can get yourself on base somehow, do it, whether it's a bunt or whatever. Otherwise, who cares about a no-hitter/perfect game? I mean, if the other team is actually collaborating in some way, why is it even an achievement?
