Sarahd84
I know this is last minute, anyone know of any good campgrounds around Indianapolis? I'm going to the show tonight, and don't want to drive back to Chicago. Thanks!

LouisvilleGreg
whoa, two BT tracks, nice to see some variety creeping in. I think I saw the roughly the same 22-25 songs ten times over on the AGIB tours. How about a bone or two from AM? I think al lot of the songs from AM would work really well with an SBS heavy setlist. DAngerer09
Man, I would have traded What Light for Outta Sight in a heartbeat for the Cincy show.
mellebelle13
I was wondering why they didn't play What Light, considering it's on the radio and things, but that's kinda cool that they replaced it!! i thought the guys sounded great, and their energy was awesome. They were having so much fun! you could totally tell they were enjoying themselves.. and that stupid macrame (sp) owl!!! hahaSet list: Shot in the armSide with the seedsYou are my faceI am trying to break your heartKameraHandshake drugsWar on warImpossible GermanySky blue skyJesus, etc.Hate it hereWalkenShake it offI'm the man who loves youHummingbird------------------Sunken TreasureSpiders------------------Heavy metal drummerOutta sightCalifornia StarsOn the original set list, What Light was crossed out and replaced with Outta Sight

Anywho..Great show..Got to meat the band afterwards..Nice guys..I would consider my first Wilco show a Success Jeff's Hummingbird dance was hilarious!
Kyjygyfyf
yeah definitely a great show that just grew and grew. the encore was the best -- the band got real into outtasite, makes me wish they'd use that wayback machine more often.
lovenmercy
Oh, my goodness, that was a wonderful show! I loved the owl, the Indianapolis "Shake It Off" invention, and the set list. And boy was it nice to see Jeff looking so healthy and happy; he looked great! The energy was fantastic in that place...with the band and the crowd.
Iglesia
Couldn't agree more about the night's energy. My wife and I have seen them multiple times in the past couple of years, and although the setlist STILL resembles those shows, they seemed to have added "punch" in them tonight. Fantastic show, my enthusiasm is restored (not that it totally went away, but the AGIB tour lacked something that I can't quite place)!!! Highlights:Glenn standing before ITMWLYIndy's invention for Shake it off, even though Jeff said he didn't like it (although I think he was being... )Clapping at end of SpidersThe Lighting-very well done...and Glenn TEARING IT UP ALL NIGHT!!! Two disappointments: 1) For the songs showcasing Nels, his amp was not loud enough....and 2) quite a bit of chatter throughout, but for once it didn't quite bother me b/c I have learned to get over it--its a concert. Once again, great crowd for Indy (last year's crowd at the Murat wasn't in it), band looked like they were having the time of their lives being in a rock band, and the songs were en fuego, even the mellow ones! bourbonbreath
Great to see Outtasite back... maybe they will throw in the Monday/Outtasite combo soon to close the show... could Red Eyed and Blue/ I Got You be far away? As their catalog keeps growing it is depressing to think we have these shows with 1 ST song... here's hoping we can can give War on War, ITMWLY, or Handshake a break for some I'm Always In Love, Candyfloss, or She's a Jar... I won't complain after Tuesday's show as long as we get Poor Places ----> Spiders
what i once was
Once again, great crowd for Indy (last year's crowd at the Murat wasn't in it), band looked like they were having the time of their lives being in a rock band, and the songs were en fuego, even the mellow ones!Great show- Chicago crowd energy in the audience and the band seemed to be having a blast. John seemed to be smiling through the whole performance. Glen was amazing and Jeff was in top form- sounded better than on SBS. Happy to see Michael interacting with the crowd. Saw Wilco at Murat for a fundraiser a couple years ago and the crowd was so disappointing. Not last night- except for the clusters stuck in continuous conversation-the crowd was ready. After a five hour drive with no air, I was beginning to wonder if the night would balance cost-I was paid back in Spades. Can't seem to wipe the smile off my face. Wilco live is hard to beat. lessthanIthink
I went last night and Wednesday, and I thought Indy blew away Iowa, especially energy-wise. Glenn and Nels were both on fire last night. A bit more low-key in Iowa. The new material shines!!! Especially Side With the Seeds, You are My Face, Hate It Here, and Shake It Off. The Indy crowd exploded after each as if they were old favorites. The best part of the show in my opinion was the first encore. Sunken Treasure was performed similar to Jeff's solo version with Jeff on acoustic with harmonica. The band played minimal accompaniment until the end when it crescendoed into a steady noise. Beautiful. From out of the noise came the beginning of Spiders. Spiders just kicked ass. I've seen it a lot, and some versions grab me more than others. I like Spiders when it's patient, exploratory and just ridiculous energy. Indy had everything. After the first rave-up, they added another build and climax into the "Why can't they say what they want" verse. I've never seen that. I liked the fake ending better with the clapping. In Iowa, the band just stood and looked smugly at the crowd that thought the song was done. Did anyone notice that at the end of War on war Jeff went over to talk to Glenn and then spit across his drum set? Glenn wiped off the set with a towel and through the towel at Jeff! I thought lowering the macrame owl from the ceiling was hilarious in a Spinal Tap way. This could be the Macrame Tour. People should bring macrame to shows and offer it up to the band. nalafej
I thought it was a good show. The encores were really swell. I loved the way they broke into Side With the Seeds with a keyboard intro. I'm not sure about the version of Spiders they are playing right now - there is so much stuff going on and it isn't very tight, but it is cool at the same time. I guess I'm still trying to figure out what each band member was playing. I thought the Shake it Off "Whoo"'s echo'd what the crowd is asked to do in Kingpin which was cool. I think that should be a new participation part at shows...
jtfdzn
I shot the show for IndianapolisMusic.net. Thought I'd share them with you all... Sorry about the quality, the lighting was beautiful but pretty uneven (during the songs I was allowed to shoot). The show was incredible, as always. thermocaster
I echo everyone else's sentiments...that was my fourth Wilco show, and easily the best so far. I think Spiders would've been even better if Jeff's red SG hadn't broken a string halfway through...nice save by the roadie to bring the blue one out. I'd never heard that incarnation of Sunken Treasure before...and I liked it a lot. The crowd seemed a lot younger than the Murat show two years ago...that might've had something to do with the energy level. Now I've gotta hope that Wilco starts playing south Florida, since I'm moving there in about six weeks!
thisyearsgirl
thanks for those fantastic pictures. the show was musically possibly the best wilco show i've seen. seeing that i've seen them plenty, that is saying a lot. "outtasite" was absolutely electric, and i would venture to say that the crowd cheering for the encore was as loud as i've heard it in a wilco show lately. (even more than thanksgiving in a much bigger house, i think) the band seemed to be in incredibly great spirits and having fun playing the music to a receptive crowd. the pure joy on jeff's face during "hate it here" and a few other new ones where a good part of the crowd was singing along was so awesome it made me downright giddy. the crowd was a huge improvement from the rock for riley show in october 2005, where most of the crowd seemed to be either drunk or bored. i'm going to toronto in a few weeks and am already counting down the days. my only regret is not having gone to some of the other drivable gigs. thanks for the fantastic show, guys, and another great album as well. oh, one other thing...that was the best rendition of "sunken treasure" i've ever witnessed. no joke. soundboy
Murat Folks, I recorded the show, I am tracking and listening to it as I type this. I need to do a bit of mastering to it so it will be up in a week or so on www.bt.etree.org. I will post when I put it up You can thank the wait for the mastering because of the dick-head a few rows back who made me lower the stand almost into the crowd. That is the first time in 17 years of taping that has happened to me. I would have sent him a cd of the show for any inconvienince becasue of any site line obstructions. Most folks are so kind, they know there is a time when they will get to hear a show they really liked and or was special- and can live with a BIT of site line obstruction. Not a big deal, once in 17 years is not to bad. The recording came out great, just needs a boost at about 10,000 cycles.

I was directly behind the stand, about 15 rows (HH), and I saw after the first song that the microphones appeared to be crowd-surfing. That sucks...it wasn't like the mic stand was particularly huge or anything. Anyway, thanks for taping, and I'm looking forward to hearing the finished product. junkbond_trader
The show was great, but the crowd was top 5 worst out of 70 shows. There was chatting during the whole show. More than usual. I was pushed around while people wanted a better sit. If you want a better sit buy the tickets early. A couple of people would yell out shit in the middle of songs just for the fun of it. Guest Jules
Wow, what a show! I thought Nov. 24th at the Auditorium was great (and I was in the 3rd row), but this was right up there, even 20 rows back. Ditto the comments on Sunken Treasure and Outtasite. Seems like Jeff rewarded the crowd for the energy by subbing for What Light. Also, is it possible Glenn just keeps getting better and better? My buddy turned to me (1st Wilco show) and said, "you weren't kidding about this guy!" Anyone who thinks he was restrained on the new album needs to see him perform Hate It Here live. All in all, it was well worth the hell of getting out of Chicago at 3:00PM on a Friday. Shake it off, Whoooo!, Shake it off, Whoooo!. Shake it off, Whoooo! Good stuff. And who provided the macrame neckace for the owl?
