ms. yvon
Here was the setlist for tonight's very family-friendly show:...Sky Blue Skythe evil, much maligned, Shake It OffHummingbird... I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS HAPPENS! tonight was a very fun show! lots of comedy and shenanigans on stage. the mike/glenn duel during the outro of IATTBYH was hysterical. looked like mike kept telling glenn that was not going to stop playing, then he would hit the keys even harder. during shake it off, jeff adopted a deep giant voice for the line, "giant beast with many souls..." shot was rocking! again! during this tune nels looked like he was kicking his guitar's ass. OUTSTANDING! for the record: found a room at a motel in shelburne: got the last room. a smoking room, but not too obnoxious. as i was checking in, a few of the crew guys were leaving. this must have been the "get cleaned up before hitting the road" spot. got into the room, turned on the tv: flight of the conchords special on comedy central. fuck. yes. So Long
Sounds like a good show. Muzzle of Bees?! I'm jealous.
wallflower77
My first Wilco show. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day, and I got to hear California Stars!
Preferred B
If nobody else is going to chime in with any more show details I'll try to do so later when I have some time. For instance, these were on the lawn outside the gates:

bböp
You're kidding, right?!? No, they literally tried to make everyone sit down right before the show started. We played along during Low's set, but once Wilco came on, everybody just stood up and they basically gave up. Before the show, some of the venue personnel had said that they hadn't really ever had an act like Wilco (i.e. a rock band) play there before. They lost control of their stupid "No dancing" policy very quickly this time, though.

bböp
Glad to have Muzzle back. You can thank gogo for that one (or a small Canadian boy through whom she made the request )...
gogo
Muzzle of Bees made me do this . Twice.
yankhotelfox
Great show, very scenic venue. A solid Via Chicago and Spiders. Good enegry and crowd participation. Plus, it was my 30th b'day. I got to talk to Jeff and Nels an hour after the show. Nels was very positive and inspirational. Only complaint: they left the stage at 9:35 because of venue curfew. And yes, Muzzle was sick. In fact, Nels' play was incredible all show. Tight lineup right now.
Night Night Wilco
My husband got me into Wilco and this was my second show (God, that sounds like my intro for Wilco Fans Anonymous or something). I have to say that it would be hard to top the venue in terms of natural beauty. The full moon rose as they were playing their last couple of songs. It was also amazing that there were probably as many kids at the show as adults. I was thankful for that as we brought our two and a half year old daughter. She loved the concert and was very disappointed that they didn't play all night. It was "Night Night Wilco" all the way back to the car. I noticed this at the first show I went to as well, but moreso at this one; Wilco fans are a varied group of people. There were entire families from infants to great-grandparents at this show...Crazy! Just wanted to say hello and chime in my two cents about the VT show. Does anyone know if they played in Shelburne because of Jeff's sister? Does she live nearby or something?
ms. yvon
they've played burlington in the past. they might have been looking for an outdoor venue for the summer.
gogo
The combination of the beautiful outdoor setting and the huge kid contingent really did make for a very cool night.
double A-ron
I took some photos of the soundcheck, camping and show pics. I agree, kid friendly and overall friendly show. We sat down for the soundcheck only to get kicked out at the end of it. My highlight was when Jeff mentioned the full moon and broke right into song (not sure of the tune). Check out the pics. It was a fantastic show! On par with Newport Folk Festival for me. Christ, I was on a lobster boat for that show, diving for dinner, that was hard to beat. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa132/aarongagne P.S. Couldn't get over the amount of cigs there, even though i enjoy as well, but with the kids? we were smoking, just not cigs. Let me know if this doesn't work since I am a newbie. gogo
Nice! And I see some familiar backs of heads in a couple of those. The kicking-out from soundcheck was a laugh, wasn't it? As if just herding us all back up the hill was going to make that much difference... Welcome to VC!
double A-ron
Aw schucks! Thanks for the comment you guys rule. What a lovely weekend in Vermont. We hit up the farmer's market too. Lots of great people watching.

Starry Eyed Squirrel
It was a great show! Jeff was hilarious as usual and the band sounded very tight. Great set.
Atticus Finch
Show was phenomenal. Great to meet some VC'ers and hang out preshow right up front. I have even more respect for Nels after standing in awe right in front of him the entire show. He simply plays the balls off the guitar. Slept in the car overnight and had a pretty rough day afterwards. Well worth it considering the drive from Boston @ 6 AM and coming back within 24 hours. Here's some pics from the show and soundcheck in Boston: The password to view the photos is: shelburne http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f229/big...%20The%20Pines/ I did not get the drum head, in the pic. Me and another kid caught it at the same time and I lost it in a rock, paper, scissors match that lasted 7 rounds. Oh well!
GrooveHolmes
I agree...awesome show. Only my second Wilco show though. Got some great shots, and a cool little video of Jeff running in place during Hummingbird. Anyone know where I might get a copy of the show? Does Wilco support taping & trading? thanks for any info,Greg Oh, we also spent the night in Burlington...hit up the farmers market & church street the next day, and had a great time. Here's a Wilco Wallpaper I made from a pic we got that night! Let me know if you use it!
gogo
Church Street and the farmers market must have been packed with Wilco fans that day! Wilco most definitely supports taping and trading. Check out the Greatest Lost Track of All Time subforum for trades and downloads. And welcome to VC!
GrooveHolmes
Yea, we saw a lot of Wilco T-shirts in the area while we were window shopping and eating breakfast... We drove from central maine, so probably not nearly as far as some. I grabbed a show poster and a Wiilco Tee...upon further inspection, we were thinking they may have cheated on a few of those Mii's. Is it really possible to get those hairdo's or Tweedy's nose? Cheaters
