wilco on commercials/tv

Recommended Posts

there was a car commercial, maybe only locally, for an automaker that I cant remember off the top of my head, which used War on War, which was part of why I was confused as to the shock around the very tasteful and not worthy of a sellout label VW ads. Sorry for the long sentence, take a breath at the commas.

so we've heard them on vw commercials and on the golf channel recently...

it would interesting to see a master list of all the tv shows/commercials that have used wilco's music.

Might I suggest the search function? Believe me, this territory has been covered, ad nauseam.

Can't Stand It was in a car commercial that got heavy rotation on CNBC a couple years ago. As a financial professionals who has CNBC on all day every day, I would hear "Speakers speaking" at least 3 times a day.

And to agree with the last post, I too did not understand the outcry surrounding the VW ads.

Probably out getting a delicious cup of hot chocolate. Ah, summer in San Francisco...

There was discussion at one point of a Wilco song being used in an Illinois tourism ad, I think, but I forget what it was (and I never heard it). Does anyone remember that one? Or should I assume it's in one of the previously-linked-to threads?

OK people, it was a serious question. Pointing the way to other relevant threads is fine, but please, other than that, let's let it go.

In my fan fiction, you've had a VC Moderator Badge and ID card professionally made and you flipped open the little leather wallet holder thing as you were posting the quote above...

P.S. Don't shoot, I've seen every VW ad (I think).

I think I've only ever seen the first two, and the second one I only saw on-line.

And I don't have a real badge, it's only a card that I printed myself, and my mom laminated for me.

I'm unsure if I can safely continue this witty banter without staying on topic, so I'd like to sum up with the following:

I spent 20 minutes of my lunch hour today reading a Joe Strummer bio in my car because there was a guy in our break room talking so loudly I wanted to hurt him. Badly. Oh, and I drive a Jetta and I once laminated a membership card a girl in graphics made for me claiming I was the founding member of the Northern Virginia Monkey Boy Association.

Good day.
