I saw this one many years ago. I felt like watching it again last night. It's probably one of my favorite Buscemi films.

Same here... I'm also keen to catch his new one, Interview. Have you seen it yet? If so, I'd be interested in your take.

Tonight:

Powerful film. Interesting look at the power of the Stasi in East Germany and how the lives of people on both sides of the party line were irrevocably changed.

Even better.

I liked Hot Fuzz, but I must say I preferred Shaun of the Dead a little bit more. Either way, they're both quite entertaining.

Just got back from Superbad, at Poughkeepsie's first stadium-seating theater. That shit was funny.

How was this?

Black Book, which concerns a Jewish singer asked by the Dutch Resistance to seduce an SS officer, has the usual Verhoeven showmanship--a fast pace, a curdled sense of melodrama, an unapologetic cocktail of sex and violence--but it also has a bewildering moral complexity. I think it

It's not on DVD yet, is it? I caught it at our downtown theatre.

EDIT: Just checked; it's due for DVD release on September 25th.

yeah I just checked our queue, I had it in the Saved section. I knew I put it in there awhile ago.

I've been really curious about it

If I had known, I could've bootlegged a copy while at the theater. I totally would've done that for you--but I probably would have trimmed a few minutes here and there, tightened things up in places...

I filled my film noir jones tonight with this classic. This one is very entertaining, tightly paced, with some great camera work and inventive shots. Probably the best picture set on a train that isn't Strangers on a Train.

Can you offer this service in general?

Clocks in at almost 2h 45m, making a great movie even better.

The whole theatre was in silence after the first 10 minutes. The 'origin' piece in the front half of the film is what makes it, but Rob's take on the actual night from the first film was good too. It had holes, but the Zombie aestethic had the perfect level of creepiness to make it worth the admission.
