CommerceComet
Oh, Papi... That is just obscene. Makes me glad to be a Yankees fan.

OOO
Well it was a nice run for the rockies and all...
MrRain422
Unbelievable. These teams are so evenly matched that not only do they have identical records after a 162 game season, but their one game playoff goes 13. Awesome.
bobbob1313
Jorge Julio strikes again!
MrRain422
This game is ridiculous.
Scalzunfield
This Pads/Rockies game is exactly the kind of matchup I've been dying to see for some time. 14 innings back and forth. Just awesome.
OOO
Well it was a nice run for the rockies and all... You're an idiot. Nice job Rockies!
Leo
That is the best baseball game I've seen in years. This is why post-season baseball is the pinnacle of sports. WOW!
Lammycat
Wow. What a ball game. I don't think Holliday ever touched home plate, though.

bobbob1313
Omg, I can't believe I just missed that ending. As I was walking back from the office, the Rockies were done by 2 and one of the greatest closers of all time is coming in. And I walk in just as Holliday scores the game winning run. Wow. cryptique
This was one of those extremely rare nights when insomnia pays off. Wow. I don't think I've ever seen Hoffman hit so hard. Even that last one (which was caught) was a rocket. Four of 'em in a row. I'm not convinced that Holliday got any of the plate, but I guess we'll never know.
MrRain422
The last replay I saw made me think that he did get it, but damn, it's close enough that I wouldn't swear on it. How fitting for that game to end on a disputable call. Could not be any closer.
CommerceComet
This is why post-season baseball is the pinnacle of sports. WOW! Let's hope this game just set the tone for the most exciting post-season ever.
Mystik Spiral
I don't think I've ever seen Hoffman hit so hard. Even that last one (which was caught) was a rocket. Four of 'em in a row. The Rockies have actually pounded Hoffman on a pretty regular basis for the past few years. I mean, Helton's 13 for 22 against the dude. And might I say...
bjorn_skurj
Man. To have used Jorge Julio in an important spot and SURVIVED. With luck like that, Colorado might go all the way.
Mystik Spiral
Yeah no shit. My heart just drops to my stomach when that guy comes in...
Twisted Acres
I saw Jorge Julio on the mound and said to Patti, "They're handing this game to the Padres!!!" But then Trevor Hoffman goes out and does a Jorge Julio!! What a great game that was, as exciting as any I've seen in years. Best of luck to the Rockies. Not only do I hope they sweep the Phillies, but I hope that, somehow, the Phillies actually manage to score a negative run total over the course of the series. And that the Phils' ERA for the series manages to somehow be

So if the Padres aren't worried about it, I won't worry about it.
Twisted Acres
Yes, those Phillies were bad, beating the Mets eight times in a row. Bad, bad Phillies! Of course I kid. They proved to be a team with more passion and more of a will to win than the Mets were. I'm just still picking up the shards of my shattered, orange-and-blue heart. This really is going to be one amazing post-season. Lots of great pitching, clutch hitting, and late-inning heroics in store. I'm actually glad I don't have to stress over the Mets and can watch and enjoy each and every game. Best of luck to everybody who has a team in the dance!
bjorn_skurj
Now I have to write an editorial about the Mets. First, more wine!
