Oil Can Boyd
expect a lot of lazers, big hands, aliens, and a human gerbil ball. pretty much expect to have your face melted and your mind blown. All that and expect to smile more than you do at a standard rock show. (And if you go see them again in six months, expect to see the same show again.)

tongue-tied
-"Race for the Prize", "Yoshimi pts 1+2", "Do You Realize??", "Yeah Yeah Yeah Song"-Wayne referring to the audience "motherfuckers"-Steven saying "thank you" in a high pitched voice-nun puppet-massive amounts of confetti, balloons-slow singalongs of songs they just played-videoscreen of either strange youtube videos or a dancing nude woman-ringing in your ears
nutop
I'm going to the show tomorrow night, as well. Expect to leave with a huge smile, that's all I can tell you.
thejokeexplained
I'm going to see the Flaming Lips for the first time in Charlotte tomorrow night. I have no idea what to expect. Any advice? Don't be afraid to smoke what you got! The band is known to fill the venue with dry ice smoke so security does not detect random acts of people in the crowd lighting up.your in for one fun eveining! Drazil
-"Race for the Prize", "Yoshimi pts 1+2", "Do You Realize??", "Yeah Yeah Yeah Song"-Wayne referring to the audience "motherfuckers"-Steven saying "thank you" in a high pitched voice-nun puppet-massive amounts of confetti, balloons-slow singalongs of songs they just played-videoscreen of either strange youtube videos or a dancing nude woman-ringing in your ears Very good summary there. Unfortunately, the nun puppet didn't show but otherwise - WOW. I think the show was a life changing experience for me! Appreciate all the forewarnings - fortunately there was no goat sacrifice Overall, this was the happiest crowd I've ever seen at a concert. Smiles were everywhere. One guy was so happy he stripped... Hope they come back to Charlotte soon.

Blue and Green
Man it has been too long since I have seen them live. I love the feeling I get after seeing them live.
TW Walsh
i like the lips...but it's hard not to view all the extra stuff as a willful diversion from the music. there are a lot of pre-recorded tracks. they've made some great records. never seen them live. but i like the documentary. i watched it twice back to back the first time...once without commentary and once with. Drazil
The diversions from the music were great though. Listening to Dancing Queen while santas and aliens marched in with spotlights was surreal. The Led Zep remix was hypnotizing. It all worked...
