Guest Left Arm Tan
does anyone know if wilco will be coming to chicago around thanksgiving per the usual or was that millenium park show it? if they do come, i'd like to see them play somewhere a little smaller than the auditorium theatre, where i've seen them twice now. Kyjygyfyf
god i really hope they do
WaronWar
This would be great because I would be back home in Chicago area from college. But my guess is it won't happen because it has not been posted. But I remember last year, it was the first or second week of October when last year's Thanksgiving shows were announced. So there is hope. But the days of the Vic and other smaller size venues are most likely over because Wilco is very much more notable.

You are right, the tix for The Auditorium will even be hard to get judging from the Millienium Park concert. I got last years Thanksgiving tix pretty easily. Things have changed. I like the Auditorium, its nice. I would take a solo Tweedy show right now over Wilco cause I just saw them in Sept.
explodo
I would maybe even have enough money by November to afford to go.

ZenLunatic
maybe solo jeff at the vic soon would be perfect??? Yeah it seems like The Vic is the place he plays solo now. He played there earlier this year. His solo shows are really good, gotta check one out.

(last time they were in madison it was at a bigger space downtown.) i also ended up getting tickets to a thanksgiving show at the auditorium last year. it's a nice place, but our seats weren't great, so i enjoyed the madison show much more. if only they'd hit both towns again around thanksgiving this year! LouieB
I was hoping someone knew something instead of wishful thinking... It is also possible that the Thanksgiving shows could be around Christmas too. LouieB
alison the wilca
kris and i were at the chicago theatre last weekend and saw wilco on a chicago theatre flyer. the problem was that we saw it from a distance, not close up, so i have no idea why they were on it. also, is it bad to say i'd rather a solo show that weekend? i like to keep things low key. The only thing I see coming up at the Chicago Theatre is Bright Eyes (with Andrew Bird solo) and Neil Young.
Wendy
Nothing to get excited about - that was just a big glossy pamphlet put out by "The Rave" in Milwaukee promoting their upcoming Rave and Eagles Ballroom shows this fall. Wilco is playing there Oct 9.
alison the wilca
gotcha. thanks.
tjr
You can see Jeff solo on December 1 at the Auditorium, when he headlines the 50th anniversary of the Old Town School of Folk Music concert. Not the same as a solo show, but it's going to be a great night...

jdmel
I believe he meant Bueller as in Bueller... Bueller.... Bueller. Nothing kills your street cred faster in Chicago than that misspelling.
ZenLunatic
Got this yesterday. "Wilco are playing their last show of 2007 tonight in Dublin. Thanks to all of you who came out and supported the band with such enthusiasm this year. We enjoyed almost every second of it." Looks like no Thanksgiving Auditorium Shows this year. Maybe replaced by Millienum Park now. There is Jeff playing Second City and Folk Festival for the people in Chicago.

virtualreason
Who's to say they aren't gearing up for something special in January? They're never ones to let down the homefolk. My prediction/beginning of wild rumors is they are going to do 5 shows at the Metro the week my semester starts.
Guest David Puddy
They're never ones to let down the homefolk. true, but i'm still disappointed. some metro shows would be awesome. or just the vic again.

Actually, I think they played the Riviera a couple years. Edit: Riviera 2001-2002, then nothing until 2006.
LouieB
The band undoubtedly needs some time off. Perhaps when things gear back whenever....Spring?? LouieB
