Mystik Spiral
I think I'm the only one still watching this game. It's a good one!
bjorn_skurj
On the homefront - intentionally walking Kaz Matsui?!? Interesting...To be honest, I thought I could go my entire life and a few more on top of it before I would see Kaz Matsui get intentionally walked.
Mystik Spiral
Jeff. Fucking. Baker. You gotta be kidding me.
bobbob1313
I see. On the homefront - intentionally walking Kaz Matsui?!? Interesting... C'mon Tulo. Seemed like a case of overmanaging to me. But it worked.
Mystik Spiral
Disclaimer: everything I say from here on out is followed by a firm knock on wood. 3 more outs.

Mystik Spiral
I am a baseball fan, so I am superstitous for sure... but. I'm pretty sure the Rockies forgot how to lose. . We can so totally beat the D'backs.
bobbob1313
I did not expect a Diamondbacks-Rockies NLCS at any point this season until about half an hour ago...
bjorn_skurj
Hmm. I felt bad for Jimmy Rollins, for like one whole second.I did not expect a Diamondbacks-Rockies NLCS at any point this season until about half an hour ago...Wonder what the Vegas odds were.
Lammycat
I think the D'Backs/Rox series is going to be a lot closer.
Mystik Spiral
NL West REPRESENT!!!!!!!
bobbob1313
I thought those were the two weakest teams in the entire postseason. Wow.
Lammycat
Philly was horrible, which helped make the Rox look better than they probably are. Still, they're riding an incredibly hot streak right now.
Mystik Spiral
Hmm. I felt bad for Jimmy Rollins, for like one whole second. He was the only Phillie who was able to do anything to us offensively... obviously a one man offense is not nearly enough. It's hard to believe anyone can beat the Rockies right now. They're amazing. bobbob1313
I'll maintain Phillie and Chicago probably had better teams, but the best team doesn't always win in the postseason. Once you get there it's basically a coin flip.
bjorn_skurj
Nah. Neither the Phils or the Cubs had much in the way of pitching. The Cubs were the least bad of a bad division and Philly was able to take advantage of the worst September meltdown IN ALL RECORDED HISTORY.Ariz.-Colo. should be a good series. CommerceComet
Here's my guess. Division winners: Cubs, Phillies, Yankees, AngelsLeague winners: Phillies, AngelsChamps: Angels Good thing I don't bet on sports.

The Phillies and Rockies have very similar pitching staffs, except that Cole Hamels is better than anyone the Rox have. The Cubs and D'Backs both had top line starters, and I think the Cubs had more depth in the rotation after that. It just didn't work out the way I thought. Like I said, it's basically a coinflip. Lammycat
Like I said, it's basically a coinflip. While getting to the post-season is obviously the more difficult task and winning a short series (5 or 7 games) can be easier at times, I disagree that it's basically a coin flip. Different strategies are employed than in the regular season but there are still many factors that can sway the successes of teams in the post-season that have nothing to do with chance but with strategy/managerial decisions/etc.. Can anybody win the WS in the post-season? Of course. And not always the "better" team from the regular season or even on paper. But the implication that it's a crap shoot isn't realistic.
