kc3305
Is there a consensus as to what are the best live downloads of Wilco that exist from the current tour or past tours? I speak specifically to sound quality as I have never seen or heard a show where the band was off. I would appreciate any and all best-show suggestions and where I can find them. Thanks. isadorah
I think there was a thread on this in After the Show earlier this year, August maybe. Folks posted their thoughts and suggestions. I'll try to do a search for it and post, unless Analogman beats me to it.

Mr. Heartbreak
8/31/99 - My first Wilco show, and an excellent ST-era soundboard.7/4/01 - Grant Park intro to YHF material. Jay's last show.11/3/02 - Best Wilco show I've seen, very long (27 songs, I think). Quality aud recording.

Plus - I can tell you after recently searching for Wilco shows on various BT sites, you are not going to find that many shows older than the last year or so. I did see some from the late 90s/early 00's - but not very many. Another reason they should go with archive.org.
isadorah
http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?sho...lco+shows+sound i tried to get this all fancy, and not just be the URL, but technology not agreeing.
DAngerer09
Another reason they should go with archive.org. A lot of that stuff is streamed/available for download in mp3 on that site. I wouldn't think the AMan would be too fond of that...
aricandover
any of the Minus 5 shows.

That's the one thing I don't like about the place. On the positive side - if the shows were up there, people who can't/won't bother with BT could just be sent there to get shows. I did see some from the late 90s/early 00's - but not very many. Correct. But some great shows are still gracefully available at the "Owl & the Bear" website http://www.owlandbear.com/live-downloads/ ....and indeed using the great Archive.org site would be fantastic . Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not mandatory to upload the shows in mp3 format, so the source is preserved. If anyone wants to create a Wilco section on Archive.org (provided Wilco management agree), I'd be happy to upload a lot of the shows I have (lossless) .That might be worth a new thread, isn't it ? samuel70
I would be happy to help on this project. I'll have a look on Archive.org and see how this stuff works... (Damn, check out the Ryan Adams section at Archive.org, 218 shows, mostly soundboards...!) Samuel
samuel70
I created a new thread about this archive.org thing. Here. Samuel
