Dual fan here. Kentucky since birth, and Virginia Commonwealth, the past decade. Kentucky has regrouped rather nicely after an abysmal start and finished with 12 SEC wins, which is good for an NCAA lock. VCU, who beat Duke in the first round last year, and played Pittsburgh to overtime in the second round, was upset in the semifinals of their (CAA) tournament this weekend and is all over the bubble now, despite winning their conference by 3 games. The CAA has placed 2 teams each the past couple of years and George Mason of course, made it to the Final 4 in '06. GMU went on to win teh CAA tourney this year.

Hey there Sooie how's golden boy John pelphrey treating ya'll? See you 'Backs in the SEC tourney. Hope you're ready.

Sorry Greg, I think VCU is out.

I'm thinking VCU is in some serious hot water, but I'm holding out hope that there aren't too many mid major tourney upsets this week. Kentucky on the other hand could either do some seriously unexpected damage or fade really fast.

I love Pel, and most Arkansas fans feel the same. I'm still waiting on him to bite someone's head off at the neck.

UConn and Louisville have identical 24-7 records. UConn and Louisville both lost a game last week. UConn beat Louisville in their only head to head matchup just over a month ago. The consensus is Louisville deserves to be seeded higher (3 seed) than UConn (4 seed). Boo.

Yes, I'm an oversensitive UConn fan.

Still, that was interesting to look at. Thanks.

Absolutely love the sport, but my childhood love (St John's) and my alma mater (Rutgers) have been going nowhere fast for years. Working with tons of really insane UConn fans makes it tougher, but at least I get to watch college hoops all night at work.

Go Louisville!!!! (No offense, need them in a conference tourney pool. I swear we have a pool for absolutely everything.)

I would pull for you guys more if it weren't for your coach.

Yeah, I am not a Huggins fan by any means, but John Beilein (who was a wonderful coach and a good guy as well) went to Michigan. Bob Huggins does have an impressive on the court resume-- off the court well there was the DUI, the fact that he doesn't graduate players, and he's a bit of a prick.

It's all about winning the games these days.

I'm pretty excited to see who our new coach will be.

I've watched ALOT of college hoops this year, and the thing that's really hurting too many of these games are the refs that can't put their whistle away for more 2 possessions.

I was at the Sacred Heart/Mt St Mary's game last night, and there were 52 fouls called in the game (and only 33 field goals made). I realize that part of reason why the shooting was so bad was that these were not very good offensive teams (Mt St Mary's should definitely be in the play-in game on Tuesday), the refs more than anything else made it such a brutal game. The UConn/WVU game was somewhat entertaining, but there were 50 fouls called, many of them just brutal. I can understand calling a tight game when teams start out overly physical and you might need to clean things up a bit. But more and more often I'm seeing in all conferences calls being made on the slightest bit of contact (and even when they anticipate serious contact that never comes).

Of course still love the game, just hope that over the next weeks officals in general just put the whistles away and let them play.

Btw, congrats on that WV win, Mike. I'm always happy when UConn loses. If Alexander keeps this up, they can make some noise. He's got as good a mid-range game as anyone in the country.

Well, the Buckeyes stunk it up today. Probably shot their tourney chances to hell. Oh well. The great thing about being an alum of a football school is that its easier to shrug it off when they lose in other sports. Now I can get back to the more serious business of cheering on Georgetown.
