Crossing fingers they make it to Indiana. Just kidding, don't see that as likely. I saw them supporting Big Red Letter day in Indianapolis back in 1994. Great show. cryptique
Hmm. A Saturday night in Chicago. It's a long drive, and the weather and roads could very well suck, but I'm going to have to think about making that trek.

Oil Can Boyd
For those in the Boston area Buffalo Tom is playing three 25th Anniversary shows next month (November 25, 26, and 27). The first night Ted Leo is opening, Eugene Mirman will do a comedy bit, and J Mascis will be a special guest playing with them. Second night will include Tanya Donelly, and they are going to announce other guests for nights two and three. I'm bummed I can't make the first night because I'd love to see Mascis play with them but I think I'll make the next two.
tinnitus photography
i ran into BT's tour manager last month and he mentioned Mascis was gonna play, but didn't spill any other details. i should probably make at least one of these shows.
blureu
I hope these shows get recorded.
Oil Can Boyd
I suppose this properly belongs in After the Show but I'm putting it here. I caught the first night of the Buffalo Tom 25th anniversary shows and it was great. Eugene Mirman opened with a brief but funny set. Ted Leo played a solo set that rocked - and included a really nice cover of Whiskey Bottle. Buffalo Tom opened with five straight rockers and then the guests came out. J Mascis played lots of solos, Tanya Donelly sang beautifully, Ted Leo came back out. Mike O'Malley sang The Seeker as part of the encore and then Mascis came back out for a tasty cover of Cortez the Killer. SET LIST (as found on facebook) Velvet Roof Summer Kitchen Door Larry I'm Allowed Three Easy Pieces Impossible (w/ J Mascis) Sunflower Suit (w/ J Mascis) Birdbrain (w/ J Mascis) Frozen Lake (w/ Tanya Donelly) It's You (w/ Tanya Donelly) Don't Forget Me (w/ Tanya Donelly) Reason Why (w/ Ted Leo) Late At Night Your Stripes (w/ Chris Toppin) Darl (w/ Hilken Mancini) Sparklers Treehouse (w/ Tanya, Chris and Hilken) (encore) Taillights Fade Arise, Watch (w/ Mike Gent) The Seeker (Who Cover w/ MIke O'Malley and Mike Gent) Cortez the Killer (w/ J Mascis)
