cryptique
early report on CNN (not much info yet) N.Y. Times: New York governor linked to prostitution NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Times is reporting that New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer has told senior advisers that he had been involved in a prostitution ring. On its Web site, the newspaper cites an anonymous administration official as the source and says Spitzer was meeting with his top aides. Spitzer officials wouldn't immediately comment on the story to The Associated Press. An announcement was scheduled for 2:15 p.m. at his Manhattan office.

bjorn_skurj
Well, the morals of prostitution can be debated back and forth (I am against it because I am against people being exploited) but it is safe to say that Spitzer has forfeited the moral high ground.
tugmoose
Perhaps he was going undercover(s). Sorry, but the guy set himself up as Mr. Law And Order.

JUDE
How dumb can a person be, you can't even run for dog catcher and expect that the media won't dig up every bit they can on you. Like this was going to be kept secret.
MrRain422
I couldn't care less if he wants to bang some whores, but it does bother me when high officials are stupid enough to get caught up in something like this, not from a moral standpoint, but simply a practical one, as he should understand the problems that this can cause for his career, his state, his political party, and above all his ability to handle the people's business. Someone who is fighting federal criminal charges simply doesn't have the time to properly attend to the busy schedule of a governor. And I read that he paid for one of them to travel from New York to Washington, which means it's a federal crime for crossing state lines. Bad news.
Analogman
who's being exploited? Maybe he means when females/males women are bought and sold into the sex trade as little boys/girls vs. what one finds when calling the local escort service number found in your phone book, or hiring one of the men/women who have websites up advertising themselves as "photograph models".
