I've been making myself wilco compilation mixes as little gifts to myself lately too. Overall yours looks pretty solid except the little showing from AM and Being There and I always include Mermaid Ave stuff also. Just my opinion.

I think it is wierd to have been on postcard back in the day in around 96 97 , growing up on late Tupelo early Wilco and the difference now with this message board that appears to be heavily inhabited by recent converts (. I guess records do mean different things to you based on where you are at in your life. I guess that is what Tweedy states in every interview about songwriting and it is true.

As a fan since late '99, I thought my list would include most older tunes, but in the grand scheme of things my mix still seems to revolve around newer stuff:

Jesus, etc.

I can never make such a list because it just goes on and on and on. every song I would put on the list would remind me of another that needs to go on until all the songs are there and it is of no use to any one.

yeah i made a cd two weeks ago for a friend of mine who likes the wilco but has no $$ for the cds...mostly tweedy stuff:

sunken treasure

someone else's song >

remember the mountain bed

the ruling class

magazine called sunset

black eye

panthers

radio king

bob dylan's 49th beard

satan, your kingdom must come down

laminated cat

political science

hummingbird

jesus etc.

pecan pie

when you wake up feeling old

wait up

in a future age

true love will find you in the end

misunderstood.

no real rhyme or reason to the way the songs were set up...just wanted to get them all on there. nice little cd.
