PopTodd
BORIS THE SPRINKLER!!!I saw those guys open for The Mr. T. Experience around that time. They were nuts! Brought the drummer out, with a leash and chain, clad in nothing but a loincloth and Mexican wrestling mask. Then played a totally manic set. And, I think that Screeching Weasel was on the bill that night, too. Good times.

Serak_the_Preparer
I was a small town kid in northern Wisconsin 14 years ago and I hadn't heard of the majority of the bands you guys had on your tapes! My tape would have included top 40 bands like Winger, Warrant, Kix, White Lion, Def Leppard, Ratt, Roxette, Mr. Big, Ace of Base, US3, Bryan Adams, Richard Marx, R. Kelly, Lisa Loeb, Boyz II Men, Jodeci, Wreckx-N-Effect, Snow, Soul Asylum, Tony! Toni! Tone!, Onyx, Ugly Kid Joe, and of course, Joey Lawrence. Yeah, I was that cool!1!! Looking back, the best music I got into back then was probably Mr. Bungle and Liz Phair

Do you remember Tribe 8, that anarchist lesbian punk band that used to tour in the mid 90s? They were a real trip-used to play topless.....saw them at Milk of Burgandy in Wicker Park around 95. markosis
14 years ago I was ten. I used to record songs off the radio to make mix tapes. Whatever was popular on 'alternative' rock radio at the time was on my tapes. Meat Puppets, Soul Asylum and White Zombie made appearances.
Papillon Parade
I found a really good mixed tape in the woods once when I was 16. It had some 10,000 Maniacs on it.

rockinrob
I really miss making mix tapes. It would be fun to do again, but I dont have a tape machine
stooka
I even call my 40 min compliations on CDR a "mix tape". BTW, easy to use software like Acoustica allows for nifty transitions.

Analogman
I have some tapes from 1977 that I made by taping songs off the radio - mostly, Beatles songs. Does that count?
Edie
Last time I made an actual tape of various artists I was in 7th grade -- and it is long gone (and it was probably recorded off the radio). I have always been a fan of the LP, and played each side from start to finish.
