punchdrunk
Yeah! It was my fourth time seeing them....the last time was at the Northrop show in November. Great show, great set. good times. The band seemed relaxed and pleased for such a cool crowd. Cars Can't Escape sounds so nice with Nels. I was on the fence about going, ESPECIALLY since it seemed all the good seats were on ebay, but I scored 2nd row center right in front of Jeff for $20 for the pair. So score one for the little guy, I guess. Skipped the opener....I brought a friend along who wasn't really familiar with the band, and he was blown away. He's a homebrewer, so we hung out in the parking garage drinking a growler of his latest creation. Here's some pics I snapped from last night:
Knepps
My first time seeing them and it was spectacular! I was very impressed by the great crowd there, a lot of love in the room. I liked when Jeff noted that many of the crowd was from the Minneapolis area and asked if there was anyone from Rochester, I being one of them, he said we pulverized everyone else. Everyone was in top form, and two encores none the less!
Three dollars and 63 cents
Nice pics, punchdrunk. Nels had that same shirt on last Friday when I saw him in NYC
shanerator
Southern Minnesota guy here. I saw them in Duluth last September and in Des Moines in March. Both were magical shows for different reasons. Missed Rochester though for myriad reasons. What was the setlist? Maybe I don't want to know. I'll probably be filled with regret. Great pics, though.
punchdrunk
Thanks. You can kinda see the setlist in the first pic. Hell is Chrome as an opener was a cool surprise. Nels seemed to have a couple new Jazzmasters in the lineup since the last time I saw them.

Set list: Hell is Chrome You are My FaceCompany in My BackVia Chicago (i think)........... and then i lost it........ It's hard texting to yourself while trying to enjoy a show. It was definately a great show. Band seemed relaxed after a short break from touring. We were 6th row, Floor 3 (left-hand side), right in front of a speaker stack. it was load during the show, but the second encore was FUCKING loud. Painful, even. But, Red-eyed and blue, I got You, and Casino Queen were worth it!

Snagle
it was load during the show, but the second encore was FUCKING loud. Painful, even. But, Red-eyed and blue, I got You, and Casino Queen were worth it! I was 1st Row in that section, right next to the speaker stack...my left ear is still ringing ... totally worth it though, the band sounded great. While the crowd that was there was pretty good, it's a shame that the show wasn't in Minneapolis where they would've sold out any venue. I think they're long overdue for a night or two at First Ave. Due to security being a bunch of old men on a power trip I wasn't able to get nearly as many pictures as I'd hoped but I'll throw a link up here when I get done processing them. Edit: here are the pictures
alphabot
I "taped" this show. I wondered if anyone else would. I'm sure someone did. Transferred from minidisc to PC last night, tracked to FLAC today. My new CSB mics make all the difference. The setlist looks right. I wish they'd played Spiders (Kidsmoke) but otherwise no complaints. Trying to figure out what else I need to do to torrent it. Most sites want FFPs and MD5s and other boring stuff that isn't music. Suggestions? Thanks for the pics, punchdrunk!

If you don't know what you are doing - leave it to someone else, or learn what you need to do. If you put up a torrent that is not right in some way, it will just get taken down and/or the comments section under the torrent will be full of people complaining about your work. I've actually successfully upped torrents before. On the old VC BT tracker and other places. I was whining. The ffp and md5 are all done. I just know that some trackers don't take minidisc-sourced recordings anymore, like Trader's Den for example. That leaves what? Dime, etree, bootcity, maybe someone will want to hear it. I was hoping there'd be a couple different sources for a matrix. *shrug*

There has been no new shows since the last Australia show - except for a 97 show that some dude put up. There are several shows before the last one of the tour that have not yet surfaced. floyd7201
I've seen them 8 times and last night was probably the best musically - Duluth in the rain was special, but probably not as crisp. Jeff was in great spirits. A guy right in front of me, in the front row, seemed to be on something and was grabbing his crotch like crazy. Jeff asked him if he needed to go to the bathroom because he had "never seen anyone grab their penis so often at a wilco show." He said that when his kids do that they usually have to go to the bathroom. Then a couple of friends of the crotch grabber started to getting a little touch happy and Jeff told them that they should get a jacuzzi or something. One song later Jeff said that he felt like Barry White because there was some serious getting it on going on out there. A couple of times during the show, Jeff covered his face with his hat to make like he didn't want to watch the gropey couple. It was all in good fun though. The kids that he was making fun of were either too drunk to mind or realized that they were crossing the line a bit and seemed to laugh it up. It also goes without saying that the setlist was one of the best I've seen. A lot of the songs that they've played a lot over the years (Jesus etc., Handshake Drugs, Company in My Back) that I have always thought sounded a bit tired, sounded really full of life last night. And ending with the rockers was the way a show should end. It seems like Jeff has overcome whatever issues he had with those tracks. Another quick highlight: during Jeff's intro of I'm the Man Who Love You, Jeff looked over his shoulder to see if Glen would do his stand and pose thing. Glen gave him a look like - "that was last tour, I don't want to do that any more" - and Jeff stopped the show until Glen got up and excitedly shouted something. It was a wonderful unscripted moment. Great show!
punchdrunk
Those people that were dancing all nutty were right by us. That was a hoot. Jeff kept glaring at that one girl when she was talking through songs....the penis comments were great. I thought the setlist was great, too. A nice smattering of good, older rocking numbers. It fit well. As far as the torrent situation......I can only speak for myself when I say that I'd be much thankful for it regardless of whatever it is that people get bent about. You could always up it somewhere like mininova or something.....a public place where noone would jump on you for not following 'protocol'. I managed to get four videos up on youtube from last night that my friend took...they turned out well.

Or we could just wait. There is no sense in getting in a rush about getting shows. And I don't really think it's a good idea to send people to BT sites that may be full of illegal stuff - just to get a Wilco show.
