I'm SOOO excited! I've never actually been IN a wedding besides my own! My best friend (a transplant from Long Island by way of Ohio) has settled with her true love in the entrance of Yellowstone! She asked me last night and I found a dress by 3am even tho I don't need it until August of 2009!!!

I know, I know...just TOO excited!!!

So I was wondering if any of you lovely folks or people you know have ever stayed in Gardiner, Montana. There are a TON of places to stay as tourism is their way of life. I may or may not bring the girls, not sure yet.

So any experiences, thoughts or advice would be appreciated!!!

:cheers

Montana is such a beautiful state. I wish I could help you out with respect to Gardiner, but I usually spend time on the west side of the state in Missoula or Hamilton. My mother-in-law lives in that area. There should be plenty of great things to do and see around Yellowstone, though.

By the way, if you do ever get a chance to go to Missoula, I would highly recommend it. It's a great small college town. Although it seems to be growing fast.

Yes, there will be. They are actually going to plan a week full of specific activities to make it worth all of us going out there. Just about everyone is coming from the East Coast.

I will keep it in mind :thumbup

I was just in Missoula when Wilco was in town a month ago, and I thought it was pretty cute. However, I liked Bozeman a lot better. It had a cuter downtown area, the town itself was smaller, i ate at a really good restaurant, lots of interesting little shops to look around in, and the people were really great. I haven't been anywhere else in Montana, but if you have a chance check out Bozeman!

Gardiner, MT is a very neat little (and i mean LITTLE) town, on the outside of the north entrance to Yellowstone Park

the drive from Livingston to Gardiner is absolutely gorgeous. i'd imagine since it's that close, you'll be taking a trip through the Park, at least somewhat?

i used to do computer deliveries to Gardiner and the park quite often when i lived in Bozeman, it was such a treat

If you like terrifying, curvy mountain drives, I recommend driving on the Beartooth highway. It's pretty close to Yellowstone and has awesome scenery. Also, I would recommend going to Glacier National Park. It's not very close to Yellowstone, but if you have a chance to go, it's definitely worth it.

Both my friend and her fiance work in the tourist industry there so I'm sure they'll have at least ONE trip set up for us through there :thumbup

I don't get it.

Edit: Nevermind. I forgot that Google existed. :lol

I had to do the same.

Well, just don't leave your pick-in-ick basket out where the bears can get them. They're dumb animals but they always seem to get the pick-in-ick basket by the time the episode is over.

edit: i immediately thought of FZ when i read this thread.
