TCP
I like them more then "Make a Plan to Love Me".
Elixir Sue
I'm really liking "Souled Out." "Danny Callahan" sounds like it came straight off of Cassadaga, which I was never able to get into.
solace
like 'em both quite a bit
Panther
Lyricaly this album is going to be a big shift, less storylines , Im really digging these to tracks . Can you imagine if Conor Oberst never relseased a song until this album people would be praisinfg these lyrics as the second coming.I still have affection for the Bright Eyes back catalouge but I think this was a genius move. Its not going to be his masterpice but hey Jeff Tweedy didnt create his masterpice until his thirties.
TCP
I dunno, this seems to be Bright Eyes without Mike Mogis, I like a lot of what he does and he can sure rip it up on that pedal steel.
explodo
What is the story with all of that? Mogis dropped off of that last Bright Eyes tour somewhere and David Rawlings took his place. I never figured out why. Never really looked into it, either....
Wendy
The reason he gave to the audience in Kalamazoo was that Mogis was in the studio with another band and couldn't make it, so David Rawlings stepped in for the tour.
TCP
Mike Mogis is on a lot of albums, there's been so many times I've looked in an albums liner notes and seen his name.
HighFives
mogis wanted to spend time with his family for a while so conor didn't feel right calling this new album a bright eyes record w/o him. Basically it is bright eyes just no mogis, he's not gone forever just for now. Bright Eyes will continue to make records n stuff.
TCP
That's good to hear that there wasn't a falling out.
explodo
Yeah, that was my concern. Good news. I like Mike Mogis more than I like Conor Oberst.
