PopTodd
Yeah, we all have our opinions on Neutral Milk Hote, The Apples In Stereo, and Olivia Tremor Control. What about the other folks from the collective? Right now, I'm listening to Essex Green's excellent album Everything Is Green and am digging it with a BIG shovel. Between this album and The Minders' Hooray For Tuesday, I know there must be some other overlooked stuff with the E6 label on it that I would be wanting to hear. So... let's get into it? explodo
I really like that Circulatory System record, if that counts as second tier. It took about three years to click, but once it did, it was love. I also really like that Ulysses record that Robert Schneider did a few years ago. More than any Apples stuff, anyway. Edit: And how could I forget A Hawk and a Hacksaw. The best of the bunch, as far as I'm concerned.
stickman
The Minders were great. I enjoy them much. I saw Elf Power in a tiny garage with about 20 other people a few months ago and they put on a really fun show. That's about all I'm up on.
jimmyjimmy
Edit: And how could I forget A Hawk and a Hacksaw. The best of the bunch, as far as I'm concerned. Huh...I'll try this.

brianjeremy
I would say Elf Power and Of Montreal are the best of the crop. Both of them have the longest run among those second-tier group. They also still put out relevant music.
TCP
Does Beulah count??

brianjeremy
I forgot all about Ulysses and Beulah. Beulah are one my favorites too. That Ulysses record was just too good. I hope he makes more but I kinda doubt it.

mpolak21
When Your Heart Strings Break is probably my favorite indie rock album of the 90s. . Yoko is one of my favorite albums of the 00's, actually it's one of my favorite albums regardless of decade. Ladybug Transistor is excellent as well. --Mike
