Boinking Frankenstein's wife while citizens of another country struggle to gather money to buy more weapons from US. Hot action. Go get'm Dick.

Are you familiar with the reasons why John McCain has akward Frankenstein-like mobility? It's a pretty funny story. You should look it up sometime.

Wow, I missed that little bit from FHF. He's on a roll today.

I'm just saying that it's completely unfair to judge two people's marriage that you've never even met.

Your not allowed to talk about a person you have not personally met.Your words.

Yeah, that's pretty much the same thing.

I'm still waiting on the damning mccain marriage hype. Do I need to go back a few more pages?

Wiki-ized version:

McCain's return to the United States reunited him with his family. His wife Carol had suffered her own crippling ordeal during his captivity, due to an automobile accident in December 1969.[52] Her husband became a celebrity of sorts, as a returned POW.[52]

McCain underwent treatment for his injuries, including months of grueling physical therapy,[53] and attended the National War College at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. during 1973–1974.[54] Having been rehabilitated, by late 1974, McCain had his flight status reinstated, and in 1976 he became commanding officer of a training squadron stationed in Florida.[52][55] He turned around an undistinguished unit and won the squadron its first Meritorious Unit Commendation.[53] During this period in Florida, McCain had extramarital affairs, and the McCains' marriage began to falter, for which he later would accept blame.[56][57]

McCain served as the Navy's liaison to the U.S. Senate beginning in 1977.[58] In retrospect, he has said that this represented his "real entry into the world of politics and the beginning of my second career as a public servant".[52] His key behind-the-scenes role gained congressional financing for a new supercarrier against the wishes of the Carter administration.[53][59]

In April 1979,[53] McCain met Cindy Lou Hensley, a teacher from Phoenix, Arizona, whose father had founded a large beer distributorship.[57] They began dating, and he urged his wife Carol to grant him a divorce, which she did in February 1980, with the uncontested divorce taking effect in April 1980.[18][53] The settlement included two houses, and financial support for her ongoing medical treatments due to her 1969 car accident; they would remain on good terms.[57] McCain and Hensley were married on May 17, 1980, with Senators William Cohen and Gary Hart attending as groomsmen.[57][12] McCain’s children did not attend, and several years would pass before they reconciled.[53][20] John and Cindy McCain entered into a prenuptial agreement that kept most of her family's assets under her name; they would always keep their finances apart and file separate income tax returns.[60]

Doesn't sound like a great way to end a marriage, but it could've been a whole lot worse. He was away from her for 5 years, it's not surprising he might have fallen out of love. Could've been handled better, but it's not worth the attacks he's getting.

You've said that many times in election threads. It's your #1 argument to anything bad said about a republican. Own it man, it's ok. Again, put me on ignore and continue your annoying cussing with FHF or someone. They think it's funny, I don't. You usually hook up towards the end of a day's election thread discussion without having read much of anything, point out a few things that annoy you by being rude and cussing, then fly away. Such is the freedom of a message board though.Do as you please, but I ask you to cuss outloud instead of at me.I can't hear your thoughts, which I sometimes enjoy, thru your anger and cussing.

I'll never understand people's inability to look past a few curse words to see the substance of something. It's how I talk in real life and it's how I post, sorry if you can't look past it, but it's just words.

And yeah, if you are going to personally judge someone you haven't met (like, John McCain the person, rather than John McCain the politician, who are seperate entities), then I'm going to call you out on it.

Especially if you are going to spew some of the crap that FHF has been here.

When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce.

so two wrongs really do make a right

no, they don't, and i haven't said one thing about mccain's marriages, today or any other day.

i think he's getting mostly a free ride from public judgment of his marriages, though, whereas many others don't; i think obama's being labeled as elitist when mccain qualifies for that label in more ways than you or i could ever count is a ridiculous joke; and mccain's smarts are nowhere near what they should be, sort of like bush, as a potential president -- but some people buy his p.o.w.=president, and his "my friends"folksiness = he understands lower and middle class people's concerns, not to mention what will keep americans "safe" in today's world. scary.

I had the opposite debate with people on another board, and I still never really had an answer to my main question:

What makes someone an "elitist" in politics? Neither of them is in touch with the concerns of the everyday American, and if it comes down to wealth, then sure McCain is wealthier, but at some point, money isn't a concern, and I'd say the Obama's are probably at that point.

Well said. I made that elitist point today.I still don't get it.

Man, I would hate to become famous and have people I've never met judge the nature of my marriage.

Hey, if you are running for president you should expect to get your gaffe parsed. Why shouldn't we examine who is going to be at the helm? Your personal life does reveal your character. If Bush has done one thing positive it has made some, though still not enough, people aware that political elections matter.

i have no idea. ask the anti-obama folks what their definition is. they're the ones who have been throwing the meaningless elitist label around for a year or two. i think it has something to do with lettuce.

Going back to where they came from, it matters. Michelle and Obama came from simple lives and worked hard to get where they are today. They have a lot $$ now, but no where near the McCains.Biden is pretty short on cash by their standards as well. I'd say they are more in touch with the "real America" than the M's are.

But yeah, I doubt any of them pump their own gas or worry about how to pay the bills. You will never see a president in touch with us @ the moment they get into office, and so it sucks. Now go watch the DNC.

Do you know them? Have you talked to them both about their marriage and the dissolution of it? No?

Then you are talking out of your fucking ass.

This is why politics makes me frustrated. There's no fucking line.

Political discourse with respect...at its best.

i get it. you mean like people they've never met have judged the clintons' marriage?

Which makes me laugh that Bob Barr is running on the Libertarian ticket. It also shows some discrepancy of why we should push for impeachment. Bush has signed a gajillion signing statements that are utter bull and Slick Willie get his cigar licked? Yeah, impeach the guy that cheated on his wife vs. the guy that completely sold out his entire country.

So what makes Obama more in touch?

I'm not trying to argue McCain is either. I don't believe there is a senator on the hill that understands the life of the average American, because they don't come from there.

I don't doubt Barrack and Michelle worked hard to get where they are, but I also disagree with the implication that John and Cindy have never worked hard.

One guy lied under oath, that's why he was impeached. Whether George Bush broke the law is mostly a matter of opinion and would be pretty hard to prove.
