Somnambulist
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news...uring-oasis-gig Pitchfork article and YouTube link. Although Pitchfork takes some digs of their own on Noel Gallagher, I think it's kind of a scary thing to see a performer being attacked like this. It wasn't just a tap, the guy really took him out. On the Oasis website it says they took Noel to the hospital after the show, which they finished, for suspected broken ribs and torn ligaments. Definately not the same type of thing with Jeff taking a swing at that stage crasher a while ago.
myboyblue
Damn... they are an obnoxious bunch of pricks but violence isn't the answer there. Security reacted pretty quickly. Great to see Liam go after the guy once he was secured by security.
mfwahl
That's fucked up but security was all over that. Good job.
louis gilbert
yeah i just found it upsetting and i'm not a huge oasis fan either
lamradio
I probably would have had a heart attack if that happened to me. You're in the zone and all the sudden you're pushed off the stage... Sucks for Noel, but if could have been a lot worst.. (Dimebag Darrel)
stooka
Had he seen this prick coming, I would imagine Noel would have given him
Party @ the Moontower
Had he seen this prick coming, I would imagine Noel would have given him Awesome! I'd like to see Obama in an outfit like that, or Brittney Spears.
stooka
The "wife beater"?
Party @ the Moontower
The "wife beater"? Naw, I've seen Brit in that, I was thinking Obama in tight leather pants with the American flag draped over his bod.
Analogman
Angus has had a run-in also.
mpolak21
Eerie shades off what happened to Jeff in Springfield, though thankfully he didn't get hit. Looks like Noel was hospitalized, and the guy who pushed him was arrested. --Mike

myboyblue
More photos of Gallagher attack..... http://www.informationleafblower.com/blog/...-punter-sh.htmlFuck, is that Dane Cook? Why would he do something like that?
stooka
This also makes me think of the FZ incident. I feel like this is what you were talking about. He was really hurt. About 2 songs in during a show I saw in '81, a fan threw a bottle at the lights above Frank and the band. When broken glass showered Steve Vai, FZ stopped the show and tried to get the crowd to point out who did it. Nobody came forward nor was pointed out for the act, so he said if anything else happened they would immediately leave. Thankfully the show continued without incident. stooka
sure, I just didn't know if there was more than one FZ incident.
Analogman
sure, I just didn't know if there was more than one FZ incident. Now, that's a good point. I think I read about that somewhere - maybe in the FZ book.
stooka
Sometimes stars do the pushing., although i don't know why the footage is edited.
Analogman
Sometimes stars do the pushing., although i don't know why the footage is edited. I have always read that the film crew was changing film at the moment that happened - there is audio of it - it is on The Who boxset.
Winston Legthigh
Now, that's a good point. I think I read about that somewhere - maybe in the FZ book.Wasn't there an incident with the original Mothers that he fell (was pushed?) into the orchestra pit and was significantly injured? Wheelchair bound?
Analogman
Wasn't there an incident with the original Mothers that he fell (was pushed?) into the orchestra pit and was significantly injured? Wheelchair bound? That's what I was referring to - and Mr. Stooka posted a link to - which I should have done. Apparently, it changed him for the rest of his life - he was not without a bodyguard after that, so I have read.
Tanner
I saw Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks in Minneapolis and this drunk fuck kept heckling the band for Pavement songs and he threw two cans of PBR on stage. One splashed onto some amps. I actually think the dude was trying to hit Malkmus, but he was just too wasted to aim. Not cool. Malkmus didn't seem to even acknowledge the incident. Tanner
The Cardinals have some interesting comments on the events. http://cave.cardinology.com/ I like the Gallagher brothers, and their antics don't really bother me. People are so hard on them, but whatever, Oasis does rock.
