CrushOfVeils80
I love this song and have only heard it live....has it ever been released? Also is it a cover or a Wilco original? Thanks...sorry I suck, I'll go listen to Hinder now
LouieB
Never released by Wilco, but was on a Sally Timms album. There is a great deal of discussion about this on some other thread if someone who is good at this can pull up old material. LouieB
CrushOfVeils80
thank you, I really love the song, much appreciated man
LouieB
One of the great moments was a few years back when Sally and Jeff sang this at the Christmas for the Kids benefit at Second City. There may be other covers of this. Someone else will have to tell you. When they discovered that the words were not written by Woody, it was left off Mermaid Ave. Great tune, good old words. LouieBWrong. When the Roses Bloom Again was, in fact, released in 2002 on Jeff Tweedy's soundtrack to "Chelsea Walls".

mfwahl
Laura Cantrell also released a version, never heard it though.
LouieB
Yeah, it isn't the finest release to ever come out of the Wilco camp, that's for sure.I bought a copy for TG awhile back. I need to pull it out and listen to it again I guess. For some reason I always forget it is on there. I heard it the first time when Sally Timms did it in concert right before her album came out that it was on. LouieB

MrRain422
I actually really like the instrumental tracks on that soundtrack. The rest of it is pretty disposable though, especially the awful version of "The Lonely One".
TheMaker
The studio version is definitely definitive. Well worth hunting down.

bigshoulders
Here's johnny Cash with the Carter Family doing their take on "Roses" I vaguely recall that the song was written by A.P. Carter. It's probably already been talked about in one of the other 4 threads, though. Kevin
