John Smith
Two things I have to say: I finally know how that dude's name is pronounced, and I am glad Eliot Spitzer is no longer The Stupidest Governor in America. He never was, you just did not know all about Rod yet.
Guest Jules
There is no doubt in my mind that Obama had less than zero to do with this mess, but he simply doesn't need this distraction at this timeWell, there is some indication from the wire tap transcripts that Obama knew Blago was trying to sell the seat but didn't say anything. I didn't get that impression.
Guest Jules
Well, I guess I'm reaching, but a couple of the quotes struck me as though he knew Obama wasn't willing to play, and he wasn't happy about it. That makes me think he probably knew what was going on.
Duck-Billed Catechist
I guess I can see that as a possibility. There's also the speculation that Emanuel tipped the feds off.

And there are reports on FOX in Chicago that Obama's people Rham (denied by him of course), were the one's who contacted the FBI. Does not sound like he was playing ball to me, or looking the other way either.

alison the wilca
So... Blago went to work today?! And waved to reporters who tried to ask him questions? Waved?! They'd better vote for that special senate seat election soon.
tugmoose
I got it from no less a source than Dick Morris that the Feds are hoping to get Blago to flip on Obama. Cusack as Fitzgerald.

cryptique
Good quote from Salon today... In a blurb about Obama's press conference this morning, Alex Koppelman mentioned that Obama was basically exonerated in remarks made by Blagojevich. "This is almost certainly the most thankful anyone's ever been to have been called a 'motherfucker.'"

John Smith
I read that Pat Quinn has already said he may appoint himself senator if blago resigns/gets impeached etc... and he becomes Gov. I would do it too, who in their right mind would want to sit in that seat after the last two Governors went to prison.

MrRain422
On the Daily Show last night, Jon Stewart pointed out that you have a better chance of going to prison if you are governor of Illinois (50%) than if you murder someone (48%).
