March 2, 2009 To: Spinal TapRe: 2009 concert tour Gentlemen: I have good news and bad news. The bad news:Your 2009 "Unstoppable" tour has been cancelled. The poor economy plays a role in this decision, asdoes the band's history, pertaining to shows. The good news:Much of your repertoire will be performed in a concertsetting this spring in the Guest/McKean/Shearer "Unwigged and Unplugged"tour across the U.S. If you're interested, we can probably get you alimited number of seats. Analogman
I have mentioned this before around here, but I actually saw them back in the early 1990s.

Sir Stewart
This would be pretty fun I imagine. I've been on a Spinal Tap kick lately - funniest thing ever.

mfwahl
My venue and ticketmaster lists Rick Gee's Jazz Jamm (yes, two m's on Jamm) as the act for that date. Hopefully it's a mistake or they will perform Jazz Odyssey together and some sort of monster will eat Rick Gee.

Mrs. Peel
This is so bizarre. With no logical explanation, I woke up this morning with a song from A Mighty Wind running though my head. And it wasn't even one of my favorites, it was "Potato's In The Paddy Wagon". And now I read this. It's a sign.
Sir Stewart
It's a sign. Yeah, that you're nuts.
Mrs. Peel
I didn't need a song to tell me that.
Analogman
It was the Break Like The Wind (1992) tour that I saw. I wonder if those songs will translate to a stripped down setting.
tapmyglass
. I wonder if those songs will translate to a stripped down setting. all I know is I am really excited to hear the acoustic versions of "Big Bottoms" and "Hell Hole"

mfwahl
Just noticed on ticketmaster that some places are having presales today and tomorrow. My location goes on sale in a half hour. (St. Petersburg, Boston, and Baltimore I know go on sale at noon today)

mfwahl
Saw this last night. Kind of a mix between a concert and a nostalgia trip. They had a movie screen and played clips and talked about them. They read a list of censor's objections to the Spinal Tap movie. They did a question and answer segment. I don't want to give too much away in case someone is catching this because they are probably doing the same show every stop, but all that really needs to be said is that I saw Stonehenge and Big Bottom live and now I will die a happy man.
