rhino4evr
So...let me try to analyze this... Wilco didn't show up to their own party? The camel represents the band as an object? Which has been deserted by it's own members... I have no clue if its suposed to mean anything..
Mrs. Peel
i don't know, I guess it will have to sink in. I like the idea about it being one of the bad 70s album covers. I understand it's intentionally bad, but im sure more then a few people wont get the joke. Im just glad it doesn't say Wilco (The Album) on it.I like the Font.. The font is the only thing I don't love about it. It doesn't match the pic, IMO. It is fantastic though, and I agree that it's probably a "we're not taking ourselves too seriously" thing. Central Scrutinizer
nothing too heady or heavy. You ever try to lift a dromedary fella?

Analogman
The font is a total 70s throwback. It looks like the font on a bad folk record. It reminds me of the sort of deal you would find on a Gospel album recorded by a semi-professional gospel group.
MattZ
Ok so then how does the camel fit in? Haha, I don't know. I am making this up as I go. You are the camel. You walk around with music stored in your head. You carry it with you. How's that?
ih8music
I like it - definite improvement over the last ones, at least. having said that, I've never really gotten excited about album artwork - at least not to the point where it improved/degraded my listening experience in any way. I tend to use album covers for identification purposes alone.
Sir Stewart
Ok so then how does the camel fit in?With a crowbar and some baby oil.C'mon - you're overthinking it. Just look at the damn thing - how does that image not make you smile?
Central Scrutinizer
Ok so then how does the camel fit in?Behind the chairs and in front of the fence. Sheesh!
Guest Francis X. Hummel
my heart still belongs to those sad, scary, and mysterious marina city towers on the cover of YHF. me as well. but this is pretty cool looking. ridiculous. absurd. but cool.
Sir Stewart
i was really hoping for some amazing minimalist picture in the vein of yhf, sbs.Been there done that. I would yawn if the cover was something like that, yet again.
Guest Speed Racer
it's hipster bull shit. that's what's not to like. 'oh, let's see how odd we can be like all the other shitty bands out there now like of montreal and beruit'. IT'S A CAMEL WITH A HAT ON NEXT TO A PARTY CAKE!
rhino4evr
the new artwork is complete crap! i was really hoping for some amazing minimalist picture in the vein of yhf, sbs. those covers went hand in hand with the music. my hopes are beginning to wain about this record. i might listen to it before the release after all. oh well. you can't be serious.... Analogman
I'd say it was a scene from the parade that takes place in the song Sky Blue Sky.

So yeah, I think that's kind of cool.
M. (hristine
How'd they get the camel up there?

Preferred B
All right, Mader's! I also really love that the picture seems like it may have been taken in Europe, but that's definitely Milwaukee. I love my hometown. Yes and yes! And as someone mentioned already, it's hard to tell with the dromedary blocking it on the cover, but Wilco is written in the Mader's font. Man, I love that this is all in Milwaukee. Not quite my hometown, but close enough. I like it, but it it so different in tone from the last three albums.
gogo
can it. Camels are awesome.Ha!
Mrs. Peel
Jen - are you trying to break my heart? Why, is it your font? If so, it's the greatest font ever created. Actually, I like the font on its own, just not with the pic. I do get the "inside joke" though. I would have left it without "Wilco" at all and let the picture do the talking. It sure has a lot to say!
