Wilco -- 27/5/09, Granada, Spain

The cavernous Palacio de Congresos was far from full tonight, probably owing to the big Champions League soccer, er, football, final between Barcelona and Manchester United that was going on about the same time as the show, but fortunately many of the people who did attend were enthusiastic. We got a few pleasant surprises, and the band almost certainly deviated from the printed setlist (which I believe contained "I'll Fight" and "Hummingbird," neither of which was played). The encores were fun, with a bunch of excited people jumping around in front of the stage and more folks filling the aisles. The unusually handsome and beautiful ushers of the Palacio seemed to give up trying to enforce any sort of order by that point, and there were so many empty seats around the auditorium that it probably wouldn't have mattered anyway.

So all in all, a slightly odd but enjoyable show. Nice to hear "One Wing" again as well. Jeff made the comment after that song that, "that's the first time we played that song in that key. F-sharp minor...Woo!" :lol

Here was the setlist for anybody interested:

Sunken Treasure

You Are My Face

Bull Black Nova

IATTBYH

Kamera

One Wing

Handshake Drugs

Jesus, etc.

At Least That's What You Said

Via Chicago

Impossible Germany

Hate It Here

Walken

Theologians

I'm The Man Who Loves You

Oh, I love shows that end with I'm A Wheel.

That's interesting about One Wing. After listening to the leak, I went back and listened to One Wing from Lollapalooza and thought it sounded different in a lot of ways--including the key, apparently.

Glad you're having a good time. Any good custard joints?

Hey Paul,

Thanks for all of your show reports!! :thumbup

I was afraid (no not in a horror movie type of way) that it'd be a bit tough or get a show report a day late or nothing at all.

But this has been fun and exciting to see how things are going on the road for the new album.

Thanks,

Kristofor
