Guest Jules
Why does Wilco hate Chicago?
bobbob1313
But really, I'm pretty sure they've played one show in my entire state since 06. I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that since langerado 06, they've been in Jacksonville once. Either way they haven't been within a 5 hour drive of me in about 3 hours. Talk about your sense of entitlement. 'wah, I have to drive two hours!' then don't fucking go.
fatheadfred
I guess chalk one up for living in the middle of the country. If we desire we can see Wilco a shit ton within a reasonable distance. Shit, sometimes we make 2 day trips out of it. It is fun to see them in different locales.
Dude
If a "pretentious touring schedule" causes this guy to burn his Wilco albums, quit or get banned from the board and start an Anti-Wilco website that nobody visits, that would be awesome.
PB808
So now you're telling Jeff how much time he should spend with his family? No. I'm not.

I'm not burning Wilco albums, nor am I starting an anti-Wilco site. I'm just pointing out that it's pretentious to place a higher priority on playing eclectic venues than making the show accessible to fans who do not have the time for road trips and Greyhound buses. caliber66
I didn't fucking go. And if I lived in Jacksonville, I wouldn't have a legit bitch about Wilco skipping my city. What about Miami? No. I'm not.You really seem to be.
Shakespeare In The Alley
I'm not burning Wilco albums, nor am I starting an anti-Wilco site. I'm just pointing out that it's pretentious to place a higher priority on playing eclectic venues than making the show accessible to fans who do not have the time for road trips and Greyhound buses.I would like to make it clear, once again, how much of an idiot you are. Wilco is one of the most dedicated touring bands around. And you're complaining? Shut the fuck up, and be glad they tour at all. For a middle age band with families, any touring should be considered a gift to the fans.
Uncle Jeffro
PB 808 I am going to step up to your defense. I agree that theband's choices of venues for this tour are pretentious. Take minor league baseball stadium: Hotdogs, popcorn, warped possiblySplintery bleacher seating... Fucking pretentious. On top of thatI have to drive 3 hours to someplace called the Artpark if I want to see them. A park full of art? How pretentious. What Is wrong with good old-fashioned parks with trees and grass and Picnic-basket-stealing bears wearing adorable hats and bowties? Damn, pretensity in all it forms just binds me up. reaper
come one people, "Take a vacation, fall out for a while,Summer's comin' in, and it's goin' outa styleWell, lie down smokin', honey; have yourself a ball,Cause your mother's down in Memphis, won't be back 'till the fall." or better yet... "The bus came by and I got onThat's when it all beganThere was cowboy NealAt the wheelOf a bus to never-ever land" it's funny to hear people bitch about 2.5 hr drives to go see their favorite band. Especially, anyone from Chicago after seeing the Riviera Residency to start the year off and the countless opportunities to see Jeff playing solo. Get off your ass and go on tour! Three dollars and 63 cents
And, please, ride the effing Greyhound? Some people don't have time for that crap. Who's being pretentious now?
Shakespeare In The Alley
All this usage of the word "pretentious" is pretty damn...well, you know. Expecting a band's every decision to work in your favor is about as pretentious as you seem to think their tour routing is to begin with. So, once again, I will declare that you are an idiot. Wendy
I think little is to be gained by allowing this arguing and name-calling to continue. And by little I mean nothing at all, because PB808 isn't interested in any view but his own.
