fatheadfred
So it appears Wilco precedes Bruce tonight. Anyone know if this will be webcast? Wonder if any of the Bruce fans will take a liking to Wilco...
RainDogToo
I was wondering the same thing. I'm watching to webcast right now waiting for the Heartless Bastards to come on! Elvis Costello is tonight... don't see Wilco on the list, though.

In Your Dreams
http://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2009/06/14/springsteen-takes-bonnaroo-to-promised-land/ Excerpt from review of Bruce's performance at Bonnaroo on CNN: "Overall, a stunning, emotional performance, and the best I’ve seen at Bonnaroo thus far. Coming in a close second was Wilco, who like Bruce, drew from their rich catalog of material to mesmerize the crowd — including four songs of their upcoming seventh studio album, “Wilco (The Album).” Frontman Jeff Tweedy played coy with the audience – telling them “it doesn’t matter if you boo tonight. It will sound like you are yelling Bruuuuce!” And guitarist Nels Cline channeled “Marquee Moon”-era Television to power the band through soaring performances of “Impossible Germany,” “California Stars” and “Spiders (Kidsmoke).”
tblair
Wilco, followed by Bruce... that's about as good as it gets!
Dude
New York Times writeup: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/15/arts/music/15bonnaroo.html?_r=1&hpw "Wilco, from Chicago, played one of Bonnaroo’s most extraordinary sets. Many of Jeff Tweedy’s songs, suffused with depression and estrangement, could have been straightforward 1960s and ’70s rock, glancing back at the Beatles and Neil Young. But Wilco doesn’t play them that way. Strange tangents arise midsong — faraway keyboard dissonances, streaking and scrabbling guitar crescendos — and envelop the whole band, only to disappear moments later as if nothing had happened. Bonnaroo itself is something like that in the context of the music business, where youthful glamour, hip novelty and studio-perfect disposable hits are still the priorities. For four days, Bonnaroo looms out of the Tennessee mud, jamming gleefully, then it vanishes until next year."
