Guest Speed Racer
I know it's wrong. I know everything we've valued and held holy will fall. I cannot believe what a terrible person I am. Sorry. Is it that hard to follow a simple rule? One that's in place because of the band that you're promoting? Way to shit on your own doorstep in your fifth post.

nodep5
I have at this time counted there to be around 34 studio b sides, soundtracks, etc releases by Wilco. I have purchased or accessed 31 of those tracks legally. (Those of you probably remember me pleading for those other two or three a couple months back.) Anyway, I have little sympathy for those of you patrolling around here with 3 posts looking for free music. I will say it again, I have NEVER illegally taken from Wilco when the songs or albums were available in a reasonable manner. (I'm not buying a compilation album for 30 bucks on ebay). I have a sad obsessed room of evidence on how much I've invested in this band if anyone ever asks questions. Therefore, if you are just wanting hand outs and haven't paid your dues then please think twice before getting this place shut down. If you are a hardcore long time fan looking for the final pieces of a puzzle then that is cool (only you know how you sleep at night). That being said, the way Dark Neon was available was a joke in terms of marketing. And to add: Dark Neon does nothing for me personally

perfectecho
Analogman, is there a place to purchase just the song that i'm missing? It's not even on itunes anymore is it, since the album is out. It's gotta come out legit sometime, either as a download off wilcoworld, or on itunes or something (even though it seems like all of the previous eps have disappeared off the site). I'd gladly drop a buck or two on it myself (Jolly Banker was completely worth the $2 donation), but the fact that I am refused buying a song because I didn't want to preorder the whole album on itunes (since I already have legit mp3s, cd and vinyl of it) is really kinda crummy. It could have at least come with the nonesuch and kungfu downloads, those were preorders just like itunes...

I don't use iTunes, so I don't really know much about it. I would think they will put it out in some other form at some point.

It was a preorder special for itunes only, which is sad looking at the push they made for preorders on their own site. I haven't heard it, but reading the descriptions, I cannot fathom why the left it off (even looking at the album art, it's like the space for it is still sitting there) Plus, and this is just my opinion, the second side of the album is lackluster at best, the songs are great but it needs something with some life to it (which is why the placement of Bull Black Nova and You Never Know are perfect on side one). I agree that the 2nd side doesn't hold up with the 1st though.
cryptique
I like the arrangement -- sonically, that would be an interesting direction for this band to go in -- but from a songwriting perspective, this ain't much.

I like all the songs (even putting W(TS) towards the bottom of the list for me, just because the goofiness of it has started to wear thin), but if there was just something a little... noisier at the end of everlasting, it would round the package out more (like going through the experience of AGIB to have a wonderful little pop rock song to finish it). I see. I suppose people will just have to find it out there, or wait for it to show up in some other official capitally. I have mot received my CD yet - as UPS is playing games, so I have not really heard the album.

Even if nothing was ready, i'd think there'd be something there for when the inevitable ep drops. Maybe those days are done though, like our 6 concerts to pick from (that never happened) with the ashes dvd or whatever the hell it was.

I noticed there was not a special edition this time around. I suppose that is due to the concert DVD that came out recently.

mpolak21
For future releases all B-sides will be given to mpolak21 in advance, PM him on Via Chicago for links and details, but please do not clutter up threads asking for PM's. Thanks, Wilco Management.
Analogman
they should just redirect all the links on the old cds and sunken treasure there, saying "they're better at the internet than we are" As long as they send FLAC files, that they made using EAC with the proper settings, of course. solace
Aww, for reals? I think this is my favorite Wilco song since You Are My Face. Jeff's vocals on it are VERY raw... and not in a good way in this case. makes it hard for me to focus on the rest i guess. i like it more than Unlikely Japan, but i don't dig that song at all really.
