W(TF)
http://www.davidgray.com/news/ Anyone else looking forward to this? White Ladder is still one of my favourite albums ever...
mjpuczko
hopefully it's better than the generic crap he's put out lately. always a few good songs on the last few but kinda boring. white ladder is great.
Analogman
He has a new band behind him now: Rob Malone - bass guitar, vocalsNeill MacColl - guitar, vocalsKeith Prior - drums, percussion On 28 May 2009, Gray announced that his new album, entitled "Draw the Line," will be released on 22 September 2009 in the United States. W(TF)
Yeah, agreed. WL was brilliant, the rest has been a bit Meh by comparison.
solace
WL was great, but not his best. his best release is actually Lost Songs by a country mile. but yeah, he's sucked pretty much since WL

solace
re: Analogman hmmmm... could have swore i had Lost Songs before WL. maybe just the songs from various sources i suppose. ok, so he's sucked since The EP's in 2001
Analogman
I copied that from Wikipedia. Amazon has Lost Songs listed as April 17, 2001 Wikipedia has this: (2000) UK [2001 re-release] I think it comes down to the UK and US release dates/years.
brianjeremy
Lost Songs was definitely released after White Ladder. The sticker on the front of the cd made it very clear that it was not the follow up to White Ladder but songs that were written before it.
Analogman
That's right - I recall that sticker. That dude Clune is a heck of a drummer, it's a shame he replaced him.
solace
gotcha. my friend who turned me onto David around '98-99 was working for RCA at the time and sent me a bunch of his stuff all at once, so i think i'd just heard a handful of the songs that made up Lost Songs prior to it coming out. Analogman
I sometimes can not tell if Flame Turns Blue is a song of joy, or one of the most depressing songs I have ever heard.
keeprighton2
http://www.davidgray.com/news/ Anyone else looking forward to this? White Ladder is still one of my favourite albums ever... When he was about 15 I once played football (soccer) with young Mr Gray for a little team called Solva, a lovely fishing village in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. His dad used to run a small clothes shop there. Can't say I'm much of a fan of his music though (maybe Babylon aside)
