Oil Can Boyd
Steven Tyler in today's Boston Globe Hmm. Judging from this photo of Steven Tyler and actor Chuck Slavin at Pembroke Center Liquors, the Aerosmith singer is indeed in no shape to continue the band's summer tour. Tyler's arm is in a sling as a result of a broken shoulder suffered when he fell off the stage in South Dakota. (Those Zsa Zsa Gabor glasses aren't doing him any favors.) In an apology over the weekend to fans via Twitter, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry made it sound like it wasn't his idea to cancel the remainder of the tour. "I am so sorry about vocalist Steven Tyler having to cancel our Aerosmith shows," wrote Perry. "I can't say I'm sorry enough you guys are great fans to have." Perry's solo CD "Have Guitar, Will Travel," featuring a German singer named Hagen, is out Oct. 13th.

M. (hristine
So Steven is back on the boozerini? That's a super creepy picture. He even appears to have a bit of cleavage.
mountain bed
God, that's hilarious. And yeah, what's he doing in a liquor store? Trying to find inspiration to actually write a decent song? I used to work with this girl who really thought Tyler was the shit. I asked her, "why would you wanna do that guy? He's old enough to be your father!" Her reply: "well, he ain't my father." I always thought that was cute.
M. (hristine
I always thought Bowie's androgyny was hot. Steven just mostly look(ed)s like an alcoholic housewife to me.
remphish1
Age is not kind to Mr. Tyler!
moxiebean
Looks like he fell off the wagon and landed on his face.
Moss
To think Liv Tyler was spawned from that. What, he can't sing with a broken shoulder?
The High Heat
Looks like my Aunt Vera and her recently paroled step-son/lover Tommy, who is sporting his Sunday wife-beater and his favorite "B" hat.
Wild Frank
That is a freaky photo. I hope Joe Perry isn't aging as badly as Stephen. Anyway, I'm going to say it.....I love Aerosmith. Old And new. I love the power ballads and cheesy stuff. They seem to have lost some respect since the 80s resurection, and the early stuff is superior, but 'Permanent Vacation' and 'Pump' are great. Vacant Horizon
Cheers to that. Aerosmith is legendary. tell me what it takes...is probably one of the greatest songs of all time and definitely a gem of the late 80s. i was in my first high school band then and we used to watch that video to get inspired to write our own stuff. as far as steven goes, i feel bad for him, and other aging rockers. how long can these guys keep it up? and is it necessary financially? i really feel we'd have a lot of the old bands still with us if they didn't feel the pressure to tour as much and make as much money. jerry garcia comes to mind. even with wilco, do they really need to tour that much? why not hit each section of the country at different times of the year. and only tour 2 months all together. how about 2 night stands or residencies? just doesn't seem necessary. i worry about dylan, neil young, and springsteen. i'd much rather see them taking it easy on the road and putting out more music. same with aerosmith. Sir Stewart
Yeah. When Aerosmith released that bloozy album a few years back, I had hope they were hanging up the theatrics and settling into an elder statesmen role, sitting on stools, rocking out in a chilled way. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I read a column in a local Boston paper about a month ago pleading with the boys to hang it up, as it checked off a number of injuries/ailments the band had already sustained on this tour. Then came the fall (which I could barely watch on YouTube). Sad to see - not everyone can be The Rolling Stones. I think that's the mentality of Aerosmith and Steven in particular: he's looked up to Mick for just about all of his life, but he either doesn't have the same resources when it comes to sustaining himself for the road, or he just doesn't have it in his genes to rock out with his elderly cock out.And yeah, that song - What It Takes - that's one I never tire of hearing. As far as his looks in the above pic: he's old. People get old and look old. That's the deal.
myboyblue
As far as his looks in the above pic: he's old. People get old and look old. That's the deal.Yes, I think half of it is that it is a bad picture. He didn't look quite so bad in the video someone attached in here. I like some early Aerosmith but have never liked looking at them. The theatrics are enough to turn me off. He and Joe should look at a solo acoustic tour on stools. I wouldn't go but they should go ahead and do that anyway.
