i have been to about 38-40 shows. not that many but this dates back to '97.

 

 

I don't know whether to be outraged or jealous.

 

Just what do you consider "that many"?

Despite being a Wilco fan from day one (and a UT fan before that), I have missed nearby Wilco shows much more often than I've attended them. Sad to say, I have a pretty poor track record for actually getting out to see them. In general, though, I'm not someone who often goes to multiple shows by an artist. I've seen Wilco more than any other artist with only a few exceptions (Elvis Costello being one).

I just like to see them in October, I guess. Or maybe they like to come through Michigan in October.

I'm still looking for a recording of the Calvin College show. That might have been the best evening of music I have ever experienced. As far as full band shows go, I never thought the Kalamazoo show would ever be topped but the Wharton show was absolutely top-notch.

I got into Wilco in late 2004/early 2005. The first chance i had for any sort of live experience was a Jeff solo show at Calgary folk fest in June of 2005. I remember talking about it on this board and people saying "GO to this show - Wilco shows will come, but the Tweedy solo shows are a lot more rare". so yeah - i took their advice and they were so right! That's the only time i've seen a Jeff Tweedy solo show, but i've seen Wilco a bunch of times since then. so here's my list..

 

2005:

June, Jeff Tweedy Solo at Calgary Folk Fest

 

2006:

June, Edmonton, Northern Jubilee Auditorium

 

2007:

August, Calgary, Southern Jubilee Auditorium + SOUNDCHECK!

August, Edmonton, Northern Jubilee Auditorium

 

2008:

December, Toronto, opening for Neil Young

 

2010:

February, Edmonton, Northern Jubilee Auditorium

 

So it's something like 6 times, counting the opening slot and the soundcheck as half each(?)

 

I'm in Waterloo Ontario right now, and they're playing in London (about a 90 minute drive away) tonight. i am really considering going, but I don't think I can afford the time. i have so much work to do tonight and tomorrow. sigh. but i really want to. Last week's show in Edmonton was probably the best one I've seen.

i saw Wilco 1st in 2002 (i think) @ the Orpheum, and then also at

Lowell, MA LeLacheur Park July 2009

 

And if I don't die or get murdered before April: Boston Orpheum and Concord, NH's Capitol Arts Center....

 

and i'm hoping to see those two shows as well.
