northern_comfort
My wife and I recently opened up Sky Blue Sky Sandwich Company Ltd. at 605 Bloor Street West (upper unit). We had plans for this for some time now and it happened that we were able to get the place ready and open up last week in time for the concerts at Massey Hall. We've had some great feedback on the food and some returning customers for the first week. However, not one person has mentioned anything to me about the sandwiches named after Wilco songs (salmon salad sandwich = mermaid avenue; pulled pork = kingpin) or the music that is being played. One reason we went with the whole Wilco theme is because we love the atmosphere at Wilco concerts. I want that to carry over to the Sandwich Shop and was hoping to get some serious Wilco fans in there this week. So if you're in Toronto for the Wilco shows and would like some good quality sandwiches, come out and show my staff that my wife and I are not the only Wilco fans in Toronto. p.s. We're closed Monday for Thanksgiving:)
GtrPlyr
That sounds terrific. I'll have to check your place out next time I'm in the area. Do you guys do any vegetarian and/or vegan sandwiches?
northern_comfort
That sounds terrific. I'll have to check your place out next time I'm in the area. Do you guys do any vegetarian and/or vegan sandwiches? Thanks. We make our own breads and they all have some sort of dairy, but we do have vegetarian soups and a couple vegetarian sandwiches. For example: Side With The Seeds = Roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions and mushrooms served with a slice of cheddar cheese on our very own three cheese bread. Red-Eyed and Blue = A thick slice of mozzarella topped with tomato, sweet onion and sprinkled with basil leaves. On white or brown bread toasted to your liking and spread with wasabi mayonnaise. lizish
Very cool! I'll pop by next time I'm up at Sonic Boom or getting Lee's tickets. I have a family member that runs the Green Beanery/old bank building at Bathurst/Bloor. I'll tell them to check it out. You of course offer discounts for low numbered board members.... bböp
Just wanted to let you know I stopped by yesterday. Really nice space you guys have -- the Uncle Tupelo handbill in the restroom foyer is a nice touch (as are, of course, the Wilco posters in the main space). The kids working when I was there were very nice. Anyway, good luck to you guys! P.S. I also had a "Kingpin" and got a "She's A Jar" to go.
