Chinese Apple
Jazz band Bad Plus covers Wilco on their new album "For All I Care."
drop dead ed
cover of Radio Cure I was going to mention it a while back...If you like it here it is. I personally don't dig it. Tweedy's vocals trump speaking of covers
IATTBYB
I couldn't make it through that youtube clip. If it wasn't for the vocalist, I don't think I would have picked up on the "Radio Cure" cover. The Bad Plus should stick to Nirvana covers.
LouieB
Most of their rock covers are good, some are too clever by half, but most of their work is more than worth listening to; some of the originals are excellent. LouieB
bjorn_skurj
Their "Comfortably Numb" with the girl singer was freekin' great.
Guest McGuffin
10 seconds of that was all I could take. No.
uncool2pillow
10 seconds of that was all I could take. No.10 seconds of Numb or Radio Cure? IMO, they're both unbelievable. Comfortably Numb is such a classic rock radio staple that it took Bad Plus to remind me what a great song it is.
Mr. Kinsley
Somehow when that guy sings, "There is something wrong with me," I actually believe him.
barbkm
cover of Radio Cure speaking of covers I watch this clip and can only say one thing -- Oh Jeffy
Dude
I like it - I understand that not everyone will. It is pretty messy and chaotic, a bit like the lunatic edges of Radio Cure taking over the asylum. The buildup to the chorus is brilliant. I'd subtract the piano solo at two-thirds in which saps all the energy out of the song, but otherwise I'm a fan.

I actually do like the chorus part. I just couldn't get past the first 10 seconds originally. The best part though is that I started checking out some of their other stuff there on YouTube and I rather liked it. I might need to check them out a bit more later. jmacomber68w
I'm a huge Bad Plus fan. I am in love with their originals, this cover is pretty solid though. I saw them live with the girl, it came across better in that setting.

Sweet Papa Crimbo
Wonder if she was prettier, like Nora Jones, whether this cover would be better received. No...if the performance was better the cover would be better received.
badger
Some really interesting stuff from this band, but when the pianist goes off into one of his more dissonant departures, I can't help thinking of Les Dawson (it's possible that only UK members will know what this means)! myboyblue
speaking of covers I was at that show. Funny stuff. I remember seeing that guy he pulled on the stage about 4 or 5 other times at different Wilco and non-Wilco shows. Nice guy and good sport.
jmacomber68w
Wonder if she was prettier, like Nora Jones, whether this cover would be better received. Ya, I don't wonder that at all
bjorn_skurj
Yay, because they did a really nice version of this song.
Gobias Industries
I think it's just trying too hard as a cover. Too smart, too brainy, I'm not sure what it is, but that seems to be the real only problem.
Tanner
Great voice, I like it when he sings the higher parts. The chaos fits the tone of the song well.
