I know there's posts that exist about this lost gem, but does anybody know if an actual studio version exists, or a good live version that's close enough to album quality? If so, any viable links to such material would be greatly appreciated =/. I love this song, but the version I have blows

I think I've got a live version from 2006, but it's not very good. I can't remember the concert, but this and several other SBS songs were all played for the first time. I love hunting down rare stuff too, my friend, but I can't help but notice that the majority of your posts have just been asking people for music. Just remember to pay it forward.

Wilcobase Song Search

Click on the date of the show, scroll down to you see Audio Sources.

The show is not listed as being up at The Wilco Live Show Archive, but it is there.

You can also do a search in the Greatest Lost Track of All Time section of Via Chicago. If you do that, then you will find threads with links to torrents for a show that contains the song you are looking for.

Also, remember what I told you the other day.

Man I get lectured every time I'm on this site lol. I'll pay it forward when I can assist someone's request. For the record I've only asked for two things, just trying to clear my name here guys, I'm not some internet pest, I hate those people. I'm simply and quite literally obsessed with Wilco, I have no other ulterior motives so please ease up with the advice guys. I appreciate your help though thank you so much. My one final question is did Wilco ever do a studio version of 'Let's Fight'? This is mere curiosity, not me begging for more music haha

Maybe, but I don't think it's ever seen the light of day. Though at Milwaukee's Summerfest in 2006, Jeff claimed they were going to call that night's audience into the studio to help out with a soccer chant-esque portion of "Let's Fight."

I was trying to teach you how to get the songs you want.

If you learn how to use Wilcobase and The Wilco Live Show Archive, you will not have to ask and wait for songs. You can just go get what you want.

I wasn't really talking to you, more the previous post. My thank you was geared towards you =). I meant 'guys' as the site as a whole, and again thank you for the guidance, it was very helpful. But honestly, did they ever make a studio version of the song? I feel it's better and more emotional than the majority of SBS..

Oh shoot, I didn't see preferred B's post. That sucks, I wish there was one. If anyone knows, let me know; I'll call Tweedy myself and tell him I have a bone to pick lol.

You have to understand that when people are new, and start threads asking for stuff, other people are going to get them some shit about it. I have seen that on about every message board I am on. I would not take it personal, it is just one of those things.

It's the same as if you went to your new neighbor's house and asked them if they had a robe and wizard hat you could borrow.

Nobody's perfect. We all say dumb things, myself included. I guess when you reach a certain number of posts you're allowed to be patronizing and nobody calls you out on it. :punch

yeah, my response was kind of jerky too. sorry. now, what is that magic post number? :)

My bad. Just taking out my aggression towards some trolls on another site here. I see so many people get lectured here too, myself included. There are a few who do no wrong on VC.

I dunno, maybe the 1,000 mark? By the way, is it ironic or what that some of us are duking it out in a thread entitled "Let's Fight?"

Let's Fight sounds sooo good, I just am confused as how a song (no disrespect towards it) like "Leave Me Like You Found Me" or "Please Be Patient With Me" makes it over something like this. Those songs are great, but so low key and understated compared to the pretty apparent dark emotion present in this tune. Yeah, let's stop with the bickering please; that is funny that it's happening in a thread called Let's Fight though as you said lol.

I liked this...wasn't much of a song, but it gave Glenn a chance to do a drum solo as I recall....

I think you're thinking of "Let's Not Get Carried Away?" Let's Fight was about as fun and exciting as watching paint dry.

I always thought I wanted a studio version of "My Words," but after the abomination that was studio "Panthers," I'm fine with the live versions.

Yea, maybe, I dunno....These were all new when I heard them, so I may have confused which was which.

noooo =/. Panthers is one of my favorite Wilco tunes, and certainly one of my favorite from the Ghost era. So much so that I'm actually thinking of getting a tattoo of a small panther with Wilco written on it's body as dumb as they may sound lol.

I again must disagree. Let's Not Get Carried Away rules hard, but so does Let's Fight. I love the keys with their very violin sounding tones, and the crescendo at the end of the song is worth the price of admission alone.

Message boards are for opinions, so I'll offer mine...

Let's Not Carried Away is a cluttered mess. Starts off promising. Jeff's vocals are annyoingly unnatural sounding and forced in parts. I don't care for the lyrics much. The piano bit sucks. The electric guitars ARE nice...I do like that about the song. And the drum solo proves that Glenn is a talented guy, but I already know that. The Raspberries "Let's Pretend" is alphabetically the next song on my itune, and I'd much rather listen to that corny 70's pop nugget.

Let's Fight has a very cool vibe. I like the string sounds, no matter how they were made. I can entertain the thought that it "plods along". But I'd say it "builds up". To me there's a difference. And the 40+ second Nels guitar solo half-way through is almost eerie at first, then really cool.

Panthers is an amazing song, particularly the solo early live version. Beautiful. The studio song was an acquired taste for me, but I now enjoy the different take on the song. Jeff's vocals on the solo version are easily the best, and why I think it rules.
