kidsmoke
Hey All, Americans or other world citizens, how do you plan to enjoy tomorrow? Of course for our American crew there will be the big celebration of our country's declaration of independence, which requires things like BBQ'd beast, big booming fireworks atop the local mid-city mountain, which of course needs the big finale of the mountain's dry brush igniting from sparks, for the local yahoos to really feel it has been a full-fledged Fourth of July.....but no worries, the local firefighters are skilled and well-practiced at dousing Mt. Rubidoux, after all these years....then there will be the consumption of far too much charred food and watermelon and potato salad, the slight burning of fingers from illegal fireworks bought one county away, where they are legal, and the calming-down of various slightly freaked out pets. So that's my 4th of July, in forward-looking projection & anticipation. What's up with your plans?
cryptique
We may do a Pacific Heights architectural tour, and in the evening we'll find a suitable vista point for fireworks over San Francisco Bay.

uncool2pillow
Des Moines' 80/35 festival yesterday. Yo La Tengo & Spoon were great. Relax with family today. Grill if the rain stops.
IATTBYB
Yesterday (the 3rd) included a small town parade yesterday including our congressman and 3 GOP canidates for the State Senate (gee, must be an election year), chicken barbeque in the town square, tubing, water-skiing, and generally too much sun all afternoon and then a quick boat ride to the ice cream shop around sunset. Today, pretty much the same thing but replace the small town parade with an antique wooden boat parade around the lake and possibly the last firework display over the lake thanks to the township's concerns over rising insurance premiums. Guest Speed Racer
Our AC-less apartment is so hot that the temperature is hotter than the thermostat thermometer goes (it stops at 84 ). Last night we watched movies on my cousin's new homemade outdoor screen (Up and Earth vs. the Flying Saucers), and tonight we bbq at a friend's house, then watch fireworks on their roof. I'm bringing my fancy-pants artichoke dip.
The High Heat
I'm going to mock any British person I see. That is, if they dare show their face today.

bjorn_skurj
Did the laundry, made banana bread and hot roast beef sandwiches and watched the Mets game and The Last Waltz with my friend John. Now I am drinking red wine and generally pursuing happiness.
Sweet Papa Crimbo
Got up at 11:30. Made sausage and eggs. Folded laundry while downtown made preparations for this evening. Went to Toodles and All the young girls love's house. Made burgers, swam. Had some birthday cake for D-man. Came home and watched Bones on netflix online.

Good Old Neon
Spent the weekend at the in-laws place in northern NH – spent much of my time in the river, fishing for trout – which translated means, I spent a good deal of time casting and cursing - getting snagged on just about any submerged branch or log within a hundred yards. Resulting in me hopping in the canoe every five minutes to row out in mostly vain attempts at retrieving my father-in-laws lures while everyone else drained bottles and cans, I pretty much just drained his tackle box.
