Edie
BTW, hell is chrome bores the hell out of me. i get worried that they might waste a spot in the setlist by playing it if i'm there. and i've been lucky so far!You will feel differently when you see Jeff perform that song with the band. Note I said "see" because it is so visual. And no video can do it justice. My favorite is PKB when it isn't Candyfloss or Magazine.

dthedust
at least thats what you said has always been my number one I've been listening to Bob Dylan's 49th Beard a lot lately. It sounds like such a sweet little song, until you listen closely to the lyrics, and then it becomes this really weird sweet little song. I think Jeff is at his best lyrically when he's taking emotions out of their normal context--At Least That's What You Said comes to mind, as does Poor Places and Ashes of American Flags (and quite a bit of YHF really). I think for me at least that's what's been missing from his songwriting lately i agree with this 100 percentage.i also like panthers.promising.let me come home a lot.but in every song theres at least one verse thats beautiful. radiatortunes
p.s. Hell is Chrome is not even in my top 10 Wilco/JT songs. Probably not even in my top 20. I used to be the same with Hell is Chrome. Not sure what happened but it's now in my top 10. I think this happened around the same time that AGIB overtook YHF as my favorite record. a-me-with-a-you
Hell is Chrome was an early favorite of mine, but now it's Pieholden Suite. I think these shifting of favorites also happened during the renewed appreciation of ST. And of course the mind-blowing version of PS on the IATTBYH bonus dvd.

a-me-with-a-you
That's a good one. Jeff's got the capo way up there...Good version, I've never heard a disappointing HD version though on gigs I went to (only seen it three times but still). The Jesus, Etc. and When The Roses Bloom Again versions of that set you posted are exquisite as well. He's poored more emotion into other renditions of Jesus, etc., but I like it when he slips into a lower key, reminds me of the vocals in When The Roses Bloom Again (my favorite vocals except for Hell is Chrome and Pieholden Suite)
