lamradio
Yeah, Barry Manilow concerts are a hot commodity these days..... Wait, what are you talking about?
Ricksmith
As a special offer and thanks to you, our first year supporters, we're offering access to this year's festival tickets 30 minutes before the regular tickets go on sale -- starting at 10.30am EST here . In addition to the early access, there will also be an extremely limited number of tickets at last year's early bird price of $86.50. You'll need to enter in stompbox when prompted. Gone in 30 seconds...
Browner
I'm pissed off. First Wilco buys out the entire Holiday Inn in advance of the show's announcement. That is really lame, IMHO. Now I've got to rent a car drive extra miles to a motel, or go hippie camping with porto potties and no showers. And this pre sale ticket offer was a joke. They never sent me an email with the code. I have to pay 120 now for tickets? I'm a super fan, why am I being dissed? After only one show, SOLID SOUND looks sure to have jumped the shark.
bigshoulders
It's still a bargain at $120, dude. I hardly think this qualifies at "jumping the shark."Where there's a Willco, there's a way.
tinnitus photography
Browner...buck up, little camper. even at $40/day, it's still a good deal (esp if two separate Wilco performances will be delivered). i'm suspecting that word of mouth from the 1st time has increased its popularity (and rightly so, last year's festival was really a great time). Guest Speed Racer
I'm pissed off. First Wilco buys out the entire Holiday Inn in advance of the show's announcement. That is really lame, IMHO. I'm unclear where they're supposed to stay for the festival, then? I understand it's one of the few hotels in the area. Should they commute an hour to their own festival? Camp? Their playground, their rules. Also, the pre-sale is a pre sale. Think of it like Black Friday: the first 100 people in the door get a television 40% off. You happened to be 101 - it didn't mean you wanted the television any less, it means you weren't lucky. That's not Wilco's fault either. They want to provide fans a nice experience, but they're not selling tickets because god makes them charge money for this: it's a money-making venture for them, too. Someone's got to feed Tony. No they didn't. Don't drag facts into this.
Magnetized
First, the early bird pricing is not gone. Just the presale, which was a different thing, and very few people got in on that.Check on the solidsoundfestival.com site. And the Holiday Inn did not sell out to the band. I know, 'cause I'm not with the band and I got in.

Waaaay out of my price range, even if it were available. It's right across the street.

Browner
call me cranky but... last year was just so easy, already this years production feels sullied. and, they haven't even announced the line up! these festival things, they become monsters. like, remember the first lolapalooza? the camping...did people camp last year, or is that a new addition? might be fun? Dear Cranky,There wasn't festival associated camping last year.
Guest Speed Racer
If you like camping already, then the camping would probably be fun. If you're not into camping, Wilco-themed camping probably won't make it better. As someone who doesn't like camping already, I imagine Wilco-themed/festival-related camping would make me Cranky Maximus.

Wendy
Why are people saying there are no more $99 three-day pass tickets? I just bought one this very minute.

Wendy
I guess I caved even though outdoor festivals are not my favorite thing. At all. I'll be hopping from one relatives' house to another (I hope anyway!). So like usual for me, I'll be road-tripping back "home" after the show. Oh well. I'll be lookin' for ya! Ricksmith
Didn't mean to start trouble here; I was a little bummed because I made a special effort to be at my computer at 10:30 (10:15, really), kept refreshing my browser until the sale started, entered my info as fast as I could, and still didn't get a ticket. Of course, I bought regular presale tickets when they came up. It wasn't the money, really... part of my frustration was that I know that sometimes presale ticket holders get extra goodies. A couple years ago I got presale tickets to a GA show in Dallas and just before they opened the doors they called all of us holding red presale tix to the front of the line. I thought maybe the early-early-worms might get some similar benefit -- maybe a different colored wristband that gets you special access or something. Hope it works out that way for those of you with faster fingers than mine!
