tinnitus photography
man, what another great weekend. i have had the photos done for a while but immediately went on vacation after the fest and just finished my review. there are a few interviews that will be forthcoming too, but in the meantime here's the main review and photos: http://www.bigtakeover.com/concerts/solid-sound-festival-curated-by-wilco-mass-moca-north-adams-ma-june-24-26-2011 if there's one photo that sums up the weekend, it might be this one i was afraid of my gear dying in the rain, not to mention the loads of droplets on the front lens element, but sometimes you luck out. i put a lot of photos in my review, but if you wanna see more and/or larger versions, you can check 'em out here...enjoy! http://photos.tinnitus-photography.com/solidsoundfest2011_day1http://photos.tinnitus-photography.com/solidsoundfest2011_day2http://photos.tinnitus-photography.com/solidsoundfest2011_day3

tblair
if there's one photo that sums up the weekend, it might be this onethat's amazing..is the effect caused by a random drop of rain?
tinnitus photography
yeah my front element of my lens was covered w/ water...i had a hood on, but i was close enough to the stage edge that splashing droplets eventually found their way on to it. it was raining so hard i didn't bother trying to wipe it down. most of the time if you didn't have direct light coming into the lens you couldn't tell droplets were there. that shot was definitely a stroke of luck. AJ673
Are those rubber chickens in the background?
tinnitus photography
they were pieces of cloth, tied together...kinda like ghosts for halloween decorations. rubber chickens could work, too.

I love the pattern in the drop... the beauty in the detail of nature, framing Jeff like that (and I don't think the luck/randomness takes away from your abilities... )
dmhphoto
Thanks for posting your photo links. Great Pics. Boy did I miss a lot of activities. Next year it will be less beer and more running around and hopefully less rain.
kidsmoke
Great photo! I have one that caught John in a lens raindrop. I'll post it if I remember to. Love when something serendipidous happens like that.
