Queen Amaranthine
You can have it all. But should you?I like this! In a roundabout way it makes me think about how over the summer I tried to clean out and downsize stuff in our house, but ironically it was a complicated mountain of time, energy, and organization just to try to simplify! Mixed success there. What, no random thoughts alllowed?! All the busy-ness and distractions in our society are leading to ADD in us all, I swear. Yes, it IS hard to keep up! It's overwhelming. For me, it's a blend of age, trying to keep up with technology, busy work, and busy family. Better busy than too much time on my hands, though.

Magnetized
Remember just a few months ago when nobody was posting for days on end? I was beginning to wonder if our little group was falling apart. Hah! We just needed something exciting to rejuvenate us. Oh, and to answer the question, no, I can't keep up. I just go through little spurts of activity and mainly keep up with the Just a Fan threads.
Sweet Papa Crimbo
That's all. Isn't it?!! Oh and pardon my language. All you can do is all you can do. I guess I am getting pretty zen about stuff. All I can do at work is all I can do. All I can do for my kids is all I can do. All I can do around the house is all I can do. All I can do for my wife is all I can dol All I can read is all I can read. All I can physically listen to is all I can do. The key is this: do ALL you can do. And that is all. There's no such thing a 110% effort. Just do all you are capable of. That is enough.
kidsmoke
Was this story from the A.V. Club ever posted here? You can have it all. But should you? Plus, it mentions Wilco. That is a great piece! I have no trouble at all.Who are you again? Now don't you start. Hold it, I'll check my nametag here....ah, yes, kidsmoke. Weird name. There was a question? "Isn't it?"" That's a question. Has the appropriate punctuation & everything. I can keep up with this place ok. It's real life that's got me a bit bonkers. Wisdom here. I try to be zen but I think I'm a bit too Type A. I see so much I want to do, that it's hard for me to cut back and accept that I can't do it all. But like Michelle (Amaranthine) says, I too would rather be too busy than have too much time on my hands. So I'm not really complaining, just observing. Life is so speedy, anymore. Some say time speeds up as one gets older. Seems so to me!

In that case, yes. Work kicking my ass-no time for lunch even, 8 games of "Words with friends" going on Facebook, have to learn 5 songs for the band, just bought 5 CD's at Borders going out of business I will probably never get around to listening too, Backed up with MOJO, Rolling Stone, and the new George R. R. Martin book. I need a vacation.
