Albert Tatlock
EDIT - SORRY, JUST SEEN THE OLDER THREAD FROM LAST WEEK This is fantastic - many many great facts e.g. late for his own wedding because of a bet on a boxing match Used to like Carlene back in the day. Albert Tatlock
I know you can all search YouTube of your own accord, but just had to add this too. If only they could have operated as one entity at the time instead of all the enforced switching between Nick, Dave Edmunds & Rockpile.
sonicshoulder
I will put the over/under on the cost of that video at $14. Also apparrently Nick's dad's name is Drain,is that a common name for a bloke over there.
Albert Tatlock
And if you can just indulge me a bit more, this is still one of my favourite duet songs, and as a UK teenager into New Wave at the time had some effect on starting my journey to Americana and beyond. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vV1bjfgr4U

Guest Spiritinthesky
Saw Nick live in the mid 80's, he was great. Seems like a lovely guy.

I thought he was fatastic.I didn't see him last week. But I can assure you that, yes, you do need all of his records. And, go back all the way to his days with Brinsley Schwarz, too; that was a fantastic band.
theashtraysays
I gotta admit, when he played (opened with?) Stop Light Roses on night one in Nashville, we both thought "really?" I did like some of his other songs, and his version of Allison is really, really sweet. He's a hoot. No two ways about it. But I don't think I would spin his latest record more than once or twice. tugmoose
Kills me the Lowe/Wilco show coming nowhere near Cleveland. Woulda been my best doublebill since Neko/Wilco at 03 Montreal Jazz Fest.

Albert Tatlock
http://www.scentsandsubtlesounds.com/2012/03/13/nick-lowe-announces-spring-us-tour/ Nick Lowe has announced a spring US tour. Lowe will be joined by his longtime backing band that consists of Geraint Watkins (keyboards), Robert Trehern (drums), Johnny Scott (guitar), and Matt Radford (bass). The tour will kick off on April 18 at First Avenue in Minneapolis. Lowe will return to Wilco’s hometown of Chicago for a show at Park West on April 20. Lowe opened for Wilco during the bands 2011 Fall tour. I would say that there is a pretty good chance that Jeff Tweedy will be taking in the show and maybe even a sit in with the band. The tour will hit the East Coast before heading south to close the tour on May 3 in Atlanta. Look for more shows to be announced.Nick Lowe 2012 US Tour DatesApril 18 @ First Avenue, Minneapolis, MNApril 19 @ Turner Hall, Milwaukee, WIApril 20 @ Park West, Chicago, ILApril 21 @ Lafayette Brewing Co, Lafayette INApril 23 @ Phoenix Theater, Toronto, CanadaApril 25 @ Town Hall, New York, NYApril 26 @ Wilbur Theater, Boston, MAApril 27 @ Tarrytown Music Hall, Tarrytown, NYApril 29 @ Keswick Theater, Glenside PAApril 30 @ Birchmere, Alexandria, VAMay 2 @ Fletcher Opera House, Raleigh, NCMay 3 @ Variety Playhouse, Atlanta, GA Geraint - Cardiff boy.
