Magnetized
Has anyone here been following the setlist as tweeted by subtle_sounds? Ah-mazing. Like a Tweedy solo show. I can't wait to read everyone's comments!
JAK2112
By my count, that's 4 AM songs, 5 Mermaid ave songs, 2 YHF outtakes, and only one YHF and AGIB song each. No SBS. Weird, incredible looking setlist.
Magnetized
I Think 7 Mermaid Avenues, if you count "When The Roses Bloom Again"--which maybe you shouldn't. I think it was One By One, At My Window Sad and Lonely, Airline to Heaven, California Stars, Remember the Mountain Bed and Some Day, Some Morning, Sometime. And they still managed to get in 8 Whole Love songs. Damn, I've gotta get this show. . . .

Magnetized
wait, was this dude that was tweeting a fan that went to the show?I think mainly a blogger for Scents and Subtle Sounds, but he also seems to be a fan. He posts show reviews on here under the After the Show threads. Can't remember what his name is on VC.

I mean it's cool for us to get the setlist in real time, but kinda strange

I've done it for a couple of shows and it didn't take away from my enjoyment or those around me; it actually made a few friends of mine really happy.

I get way too caught up in the excitement to do anything that would require presence of mind. And I actually felt kind of sheepish about following the tweets--like, just how much of a loser am I that I'm sitting at home going "oh my god" "holy shit!" while turning progressively greener with envy with each tweet? Still, it was the closest I could come to participating in the experience, and I'm grateful that someone did it.

I agree, I mean really, having a phone out and tweeting what, like 30 times during a show? haha i'm laughing because it's sounds so ridiculous. How could you do that? Talk about being at the show, but being nowhere near it at the same time
Analogman
It doesn't seem that much different than someone writing down a set list to me. They are just using something different than a pen or pencil. There was a time when people at Wilco shows use to call people back home and let them listen to the show. renic
oh i still do that, calling people that is. writing the setlist down on paper is a little less distracting then people who whip out there phone for every song imho.
JAK2112
Ya, i don't understand what the big deal is. I actually tweeted some of the shows the first leg of this tour for Scents & Subtle Sounds, you turn your phone brightness all the way down and tweet during the downtime between songs. I still have plenty of time to rock out and i never feel "somewhere else" just because i'm writing the setlist down, and knowing there are people at home watching the tweets the same way i do when im stuck at home instead of being at a show. paulcalypse
I often take notes of the set list on my phone but usually not at Wilco shows because I know that's usually covered by VC regulars. Usually you can tell what song is being played by the first couple notes or even what guitar Jeff has before they even start playing. It's not that hard to quickly jot it down. I almost always call my friend who loves Wilco but has never seen them live. Usually I call during songs from Being There or acoustic songs so it's not too distorted. I think I have it down to an art form now, haha.
