John Smith
She want people to know that she is still opposed to Obama in any form and that she has learned some new big girl words. Seriously though her rhetoric implies crimes but there are none . If republicans seriously wanted Obama impeached they probably could have gotten it done if the focused on the killing of US citizens without due process and probably would have had some Democrat support . But they never went down that road. That makes me think that they really don't care about the rights of those bring targeted , they want the presidents office to maintain that power or both. Also Obama had been very good for business for many republicans. Maybe not for the long term but certainly I'm the short term as a lot of money has been made off of Obama hate. KevinG
I think it's been established she's an idiot. Can we move on? Unfortunately, she is a big name in the TEA party. Her words and statements still carry a lot of weight in the TEA party circles. She is often seen as the de facto leader of the TEA party. So when you have someone making these statements and some of them so blatantly wrong it is important to point them out. I think people will move on from Palin when she herself shuts up or she becomes even more of a joke than she already is. But until then if she wants to put out political fundraising emails and urge people to call their representatives she better have her facts straight or be prepared to be called on it. And those who align themselves with the TEA party better realize that she is the face of the movement and people will call her on her BS every chance they get. Until the TEA party says no to Palin we can't move on.

KevinG
Any thoughts on what Ted Cruz is doing? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/25/senate-obamacare-vote_n_3987726.html I see it as political grandstanding with no real point. He is not blocking a vote, he is not urging his colleagues to reconsider their position, he is not talking policy, he is just talking. I don't know if it is just because he likes his voice or what. What really is his purpose here? I think he is doing more harm to his cause, wasting time and giving the House little opportunity to counter whatever the Senate offers. The metaphor of a child holding his breath until he gets what he wants is becoming more and more apt.
Mr. Heartbreak
Any thoughts on what Ted Cruz is doing? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/25/senate-obamacare-vote_n_3987726.html I see it as political grandstanding with no real point. You are exactly correct. Unfortunately, many people are still ignorant enough to believe the "Obamacare is a huge government takeover of healthcare" B.S., and Cruz will later tell everyone, "I stood up against it" when he tries to run for Prez in 2016. It's sad, but we live in a culture where many citizens are profoundly ignorant of the facts or of how government even works. Hence, the appeal of Palin and other troglodytes. John Smith
Unfortunately for Ted it looks like Texas is going to be seeing huge benefits from ACA through some of the lowest premiums in the country. If he is against it on principle then fine , but if he is arguing all the other BS then by this time next year he will have benn proven to be full of shite ...if the projections are accurate. Atticus
I live in Texas. My premiums went up this year. When will this be kicking in for me? I'll take my answer off the air.
John Smith
I'm just forwarding the news. Apparently the exchanges in TX have more insurers competing hence the lower prices. Additionally I think Austin will have lower rated due to the mix of insurers covering that area. Last year is irrelevant since the exchanges don't open for business till October. I work at a top 50 company and my rates have not gone up for two years, but had gone up every year since I started here. I'll just go on the assumption that this is the first increase you've seen...ever ? By the way this stuff is all over the news today, well almost all the news.
IRememberDBoon
Our president was delusional and contradictory when he declared in his speech before the U.N. General Assembly, "The world is more stable than it was five years ago” (exactly when he swooped into office to calm the rising tides). But then in the next breath he listed examples of how it's not more stable. All he needed to do was ask the Christians of the Middle East who are being targeted everywhere we look by Islamic extremists on their deadly march. This same president has declared that "Al Qaeda is on the run." Yes, they apparently ran to places like Egypt, Libya, Kenya, Syria, and perhaps here next for all we know. It's not like they haven't attacked our homeland before. Good Lord, "delusional" is a generous term. The world right now is a tinderbox, hardly stable.Instead of calling out the President's deceptive comments, his reliable lapdogs in the media turn their attention and ire on Ted Cruz for daring to stand up for the American people.... Maybe if Ted had worn pretty pink running shoes he'd have gotten more respect from the same leftwing media that gushed over the Texan state senator who filibustered in the Texas legislature for the right to late term abortions of babies (a position at odds with the sentiment of the majority of Texans and Americans).See the link below for more on Obama's U.N. speech delusions and contradictions. It’s truly unbelievable. - Sarah Palin Here’s the link:http://blog.heritage.org/2013/09/24/obama-at-united-nations-the-world-is-safer-or-it-isnt/ I left some parts of her comments in that I would maintain are absolutely true. I know -- off the top of my head -- that Christians have been targeted in Egypt and Pakistan. The attack in Kenya was directed specifically at non-Muslims (probably mostly Christian). I don't defend Cruz's filibuster. But there sure is an interesting comparison in the media attention he got versus what the woman in Texas got. Still, Palin's an idiot. But you know the stuff about blind squirrels and whatnot.
KevinG
I don't defend Cruz's filibuster. But there sure is an interesting comparison in the media attention he got versus what the woman in Texas got. There is an important distinction between what Cruz did and Wendy Davis' filibuster. One was an actual filibuster and one was political grandstanding. The media comparisons are apt.

Doug C
I love that Cruz quoted Green Eggs and Ham in his speech. The irony is amazing.Exactly. The fact that he did not see the irony in damning something that you haven't yet tried by reading a book about how being open-minded can be a good thing is delicious but also shows that he is not an intelligent man. I hope that an interviewer asks him to explain it all and refuses to let him weasel out of a real explanation.
