Songs that are tributes to other artists

Can be explicit, naming them by name. Or, a bit more vague like this awesome Descendents song:

With the upcoming reunion this one pops to mind:

We really need this one up here too (one of the greatest tribute songs):

Okay, one more in this vein, this time from the great songwriter Tommy Womack doing my most favorite Replacements tribute song:

Uncle tupelo had a couple that come to mind -- "D Boone" and "Acuff Rose" (tribute to a label not an artist, obvs)

And just because there's no such thing as too much 'mats talk, let's not forget about "Somethin' to Du" in tribute to the Huskers. (Sorry, don't know how to do umlauts on my phone!)

A label, yes -- but Acuff and Rose were people!

Depending on what kind of phone you have, if you hold the letter you're typing it should bring up options to add special characters.

Not a label, but a publishing house.  And obviously people.

Bob Dylan did a beautiful tribute to Blind Willie McTell called, strangely enough, Blind Willie McTell. And also Song to Woody. And a song for George Jackson, the political figure, not the musician.

I know it's cheezy, but I always liked this song.

EDIT:

It's even cheezier than I remember!
