To me the board games are nothing more than strategy exercises. I would never equate Squad Leader with Call of Duty since one involves first-person simulated killin and the other involves broad-scale strategy development and execution.

 

I'd let my kids play Squad Leader for as long as they liked, and feign surprise when they become supply chain managers.

I was thinking of this same comparison a few days ago. I did enjoy playing Golden Eye with my friends, but I think that 64-bit, highly-pixilated killing is still different than what we have on our hands now.

 

I was a late teen when I played Golden Eye though. I wouldn't have wanted a 8-15 year old playing it.
