jw harding
Potential for a bunch of sit ins among the different bands, as well as other rockers who will likely be in attendance. Neil Young and Dave Grohl sitting in with everyone (except Dylan). Jim James with Waters. Eddie Vedder with the Who. Ringo with Paul. Younger blues guitar player with the Stones. Etc. Sheryl Crowe will claw her way on stage with someone.
calvino
I can't see a Stones/Dylan collaboration not happening. At the very least Ronnie will sit in with Dylan - maybe Keith, during a standards tune. Dylan can sing an old blues tune with the Stones. Keith is a fan of the standards (at least Hoagy Carmichael type of stuff), maybe Dylan will sit in with Keith during his solo singing slot of the show, though the earth may implode with Dylan/Richards duet. tinnitus photography
I think that Dylan set is fine, but, maybe not for festival like this. So there are only going to be two bands per night - not much of a festival.I was expecting more bands scattered during the day - then again the 'probably' older crowd would not want an all day type festival.no way anyone who's gonna cough up the bucks for this wants to see more than 4 hr of music. Analogman
that's been his standard set all year. at festivals he usually throws in some of the crowd favourites, like Rainy day women, Hard rain. (but dont hold your breath for Like a rolling stone. he hasnt touched that one for a few years.however, bob and mick have done at a festival in 1998, and since the Stones are also on the bill, you never know ah, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD7_FfGJI0E Check this out: I asked him if he and Bob Dylan, who playing are on the same night, might duet on Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone.” The Rolling Stones are known for a remarkable live version of that song. “We could, we might,” Mick said. “We’ve done it at least once before, in Argentina. But never in the US. I have to ask him if we can.” Jagger said he’s incredibly excited about the shows, by the way.
ditty
http://www.jambands.com/news/2016/06/20/led-zeppelin-reportedly-declined-14-million-dollars-to-play-desert-trip/ Led Zeppelin Reportedly Declined 14 Million Dollars to Play Desert TripDesert Trip, a new festival that will debut for two weekends this October in Indio, CA, will feature some of the biggest names in classic rock, as The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Who and Roger Waters will come together for six nights over the two weeks. Now, it has been reported that the lineup could have been even more star-packed, as Led Zeppelin were apparently also contacted to participate in what fans are calling “Oldchella,” as the shows are being put on by one of the producers of Coachella, Goldenvoice. As Roger Friedman’s Showbiz 411 (via JamBase) reports, each of the acts are set to receive $7 million for each weekend, for a total of $14 for the full run, and Led Zeppelin received the same offer from the organizers. Friedman says that guitarist Jimmy Page was “all for it” but his Zep bandmate Robert Plant wouldn’t agree to the reunion. He notes that one of his sources told him “Jimmy went crazy. He really wanted to do it.” The two members of Led Zeppelin recently appeared in court in an ongoing lawsuit over whether or not they stole the riff from “Stairway to Heaven” from a song by the group Spirit. Desert Trip will take place in Indio on October 7–9 and 14–16.

ditty
Maybe they should take the money just in case they lose. LouieB It might end up being why they play the 2017 event, with the rumored Steely Dan.
jw harding
Guess I didn't anticipate this to be a recurring event, but it makes sense that they'll keep doing it until all the classic rockers are dead. Wilco to headline in 2046.
jw harding
Actually, pretty sure Keith will headline in the 2046: Last Man Standing edition of Oldchella.
